We’re back to a big slate of games, but there might still be weather concerns tonight so keep an eye on that. MLB DFS targets for tonight don’t include the Atlanta Braves vs. Chicago Cubs game which starts at 2:20 PM EST.
Pitchers
Corey Kluber (CLE @ PHI)

Moneyline: -189
Over/Under: 7.5
FanDuel: $11,000/DraftKings: $12,500
Kluber put together a great start last outing and he’ll look to do it again tonight against the Phillies and recent call up, Adam Morgan They have a pesky offense, but their sweep of the Nationals was also a result of really good starting pitching. Kluber looks to be a highly owned play at the position.
Juan Nicasio (PIT vs. CIN)
Moneyline: -150
Over/Under: 7.5
Fake Pigskin Exclusive: Join Monkey Knife Fight and Get an Instant 100% Deposit Match PLUS a Free $5 Game!
FanDuel: $6,800/DraftKings: $5,800
The Pirates are back home and facing a bad Reds offense. Nicasio’s price on DraftKings is $1,000 lower than FanDuel which is nice for a two pitcher site. He’s put together some good starts this season and yesterday’s postponement at Coors field did him a favor.
Drew Smyly (TB vs. TOR)
Moneyline: -118
Over/Under: 7.5
FanDuel: $8,700/DraftKings: $10,400
Smyly has a really good price on FanDuel and has put together really good starts for fantasy purposes, even with a loss earlier in the season and his price hasn’t risen since April, 13. The Toronto lineup is a dangerous one but they do strike out, and this game is being played at Tampa Bay where the ball can be kept in the park.
Other pitchers to consider: Steven Matz (NYM vs. SF), and Hector Santiago (LAA @ TEX).
Catchers
Yan Gomes(CLE @ PHI)
FanDuel: $2,800/DraftKings: $3,000
Gomes against southpaws is always a consideration. Morgan gives up 1.67 HR/9 to righties, slugging percentage of .500, and .351 wOBA. Indians right-handed bats should have a chance to score several runs.
Other catchers to consider: Victor Martinez (DET @ MIN), and Yasmani Grandal (LAD vs. SD).
First base
Byung-ho Park (MIN vs. DET)
FanDuel: $3,200/DraftKings: $3,900
There were some questions about Park’s power before the start of the season but he’s been showing it this month. Detroit is rolling out, Michael Fulmer, and I like Park today against the rookie in his first major league start. He doesn’t have the platoon but Park has 53 at-bats against right-handed pitchers and only 5 at-bats against southpaws this season.
Edwin Encarnacion (TOR @ TB)
FanDuel: $3,700/DraftKings: $3,900
Encarnacion is still cheaper than we’re used to seeing, although he hasn’t been producing much offensively. Even though he’s hitting in a pitcher’s park at Tropicana Field, he’s still a home run option against Smyly.
Other first basemen to consider: Lucas Duda (NYM vs. SF), and Paul Goldschmidt (ARI vs. COL).
Second base
Robinson Cano (SEA vs. KC)
FanDuel: $3,900/DraftKings: $4,500
Cano has put together a really good numbers in April. Opposing pitcher, Kris Medlen, can be hit or miss at times and Cano can definitely take advantage of Medlen if his finesse style of pitching becomes erratic.
Neil Walker (NYM vs. SF)
FanDuel: $3,800/DraftKings: $3,900
Surprise, surprise. Here’s Walker again, as one of my targets. He’s been a source of middle infield offense power and it’s hard to steer away from that if you can fit him in. Walker is one of the top second base options today.
Other second basemen to consider: Jose Altuve (HOU @ OAK), and Ian Kinsler (DET @ MIN).
Third base
Nolan Arenado (COL @ ARI)
FanDuel: $4,700/DraftKings: $4,200
This isn’t Coors Field game, but Chase Field also produces runs and Arenado can have a big game tonight against southpaw, Robbie Ray. His price is much more affordable on DraftKings today so you may look to him as a GPP option on FanDuel if you’re paying up for pitching or other positions.
Jake Lamb (ARI vs. COL)
FanDuel: $3,100/DraftKings: $3,600
I like both third basemen in the Chase Field game. Lamb should be hitting higher in the order against Tyler Chatwood, and has been a solid target in favorable matchups. Chatwood pitched well in his first start of the season against the Diamondbacks in Arizona, but it’ll be interesting to see how he adjusts to being away from home after being in Denver for their homestand.
Other third basemen to consider: Adrian Beltre (TEX vs. LAA), Manny Machado (BAL @ CHW), and Todd Frazier (CHW vs. BAL).
Shortstop
Aledmys Diaz (STL vs. WAS)
FanDuel: $3,500/DraftKings: $3,300
It’s really hard to deny what Diaz has been doing, especially with his power numbers. At the same time, it’s hard to roster someone who bats so low in the order which makes him more of a tournament play.
Ketel Marte (SEA vs. KC)
FanDuel: $2,900/DraftKings: $3,500
Marte has been picking it up as of late and a better play on FanDuel, but only if he hits towards the top of the order against Medlen.
Other shortstops to consider: Asdrubal Cabrera (NYM vs. SF), and Trevor Story (COL @ ARI).
Outfield
Ryan Braun (MIL vs. MIA)
FanDuel: $4,500/DraftKings: $5,000
Braun is always worth a look when facing a lefty and we have that tonight against Adam Conley. The Brewers offense as a whole is not very good but Braun is still capable of producing big numbers for fantasy purposes.
Jeremy Hazelbaker (STL vs. WAS)
FanDuel: $3,000/DraftKings: $3,300
If Hazelbaker draws the start, I like him tonight against Stephen Strasburg as more of an under-the-radar pick with the upside potential.
Michael Conforto (NYM vs. SF)
FanDuel: $3,900/DraftKings: $3,500
FanDuel has finally upped the pricing on Conforto His production has really ramped up after being bumped up in the batting order, and against Jake Peavy, he can surely meet and exceed value.
Other outfielders to consider: Mike Trout (LAA @ TEX), David Peralta (ARI vs. COL), Adam Eaton (CHW vs. BAL), and Ryan Raburn (COL @ ARI).
Thank you for reading, and good luck with your picks!
