Adam Cook’s 2015 1st Round NFL Mock Draft
By: Adam Cook (@fantasy_schnerd)
Thank you for taking time to take a look at my last guess at how my 2015 NFL Mock Draft plays out. I work full time, so unfortunately I am not able to spend much time scouting rookies as some of my other counterparts. I gave it my best shot focusing on team visits, best available approaches, and team needs. I love spending this much time on a Mock Draft when I am hoping to maybe get 7-10 picks right. Let me know where I am right and wrong and may your favorite team not draft any busts!
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jameis Winston QB Florida State- The Bucs can’t get a Winston to Evans connection out of their heads over the next 10 years.
Tennessee Titans: Marcus Mariota QB Oregon- Tennessee wants to trade out of this spot, but Mariota would energize a fan base in need of some hope.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Amari Cooper WR Alabama- The Jaguars are committed to Blake Bortles and surround him with a true No. 1 wide receiver.
Oakland Raiders: Leonard Williams DE USC- The Raiders wise up and take the best player available instead of reaching for Kevin White
Washington Redskins: Dante Fowler Jr. DE Florida- I believe the Redskins take the best pure pass rusher in the draft to mask their weak secondary.
New York Jets: Brandon Scherff OG Iowa- The Jets badly need some offensive line help
Chicago Bears: Bud Dupree DE Kentucky- Dupree is one of the most underrated prospects in this draft.
Atlanta Falcons: Todd Gurley RB Georgia- Gurley would be a foundation player for Kyle Shanahan to build around
New York Giants: Kevin White WR West Virginia- I don’t believe the Giants are sold on Reuben Randle.
St. Louis Rams: Trae Waynes CB Michigan State- You cannot have enough cornerbacks and Waynes is the best one this year.
Minnesota Vikings: Kevin Johnson CB Wake Forest- The Vikings just missed out on Waynes and get a good one in Johnson.
Cleveland Browns: Vic Beasley OLB Clemson- Beasley would give them a needed pass rusher opposite Paul Kruger
New Orleans Saints: DeVante Parker WR Louisville- Colston is getting older and Jimmy Graham is gone. Parker becomes their new No. 1 for Brees.
Miami Dolphins: Marcus Peters CB Washington- Peters attending Washington’s Pro Day says a lot about his maturity over the past few months.
San Francisco 49ers: Arik Armstead DE Oregon- Armstead is a perfect fit for a 3-4 defense.
Houston Texans: Eric Kendricks LB UCLA- Texans take a true difference maker at the linebacker position.
San Diego Chargers: La’el Collins OT LSU: I believe the Chargers are sold on a 3 man committee at RB, so taking the best lineman seems plausible.
Kansas City Chiefs: Dorial Green-Beckham WR Oklahoma: Jeremy Maclin needs some help and Andy Reid welcomes a big target.
Cleveland Browns: Danny Shelton DT Washington- The Browns further bolster their defense with the best nose tackle in the draft.
Philadelphia Eagles: Nelson Agholor WR USC- The Eagles have worked him out twice now.
Cincinnati Bengals: Randy Gregory DE Nebraska- The Bengals are not shy about character concerns and take the risk/reward prospect.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Landon Collins SS Alabama- The Steelers are hoping to find the next Troy Polamalu.
Detroit Lions: Malcolm Brown DT Texas- The Lions need a replacement for the loss of Suh.
Arizona Cardinals: Melvin Gordon RB Wisconsin- Gordon would be a day 1 starter as the Cardinals don’t want Andre Ellington to be their starter.
Carolina Panthers: T.J. Clemmings OT Pittsburgh- There are plenty of options here for Carolina, but I think they like Clemmings versatility.
Baltimore Ravens: Breshard Perriman WR UCF- The Ravens need a big speed target to take advantage of Joe Flacco’s big arm.
Dallas Cowboys: Owamagbe Odighizuwa DE UCLA- The Hardy suspension makes this a high need pick. Hardy is also only on a 1 year deal.
Denver Broncos: Cameron Erving C Florida State- The smart center is a great fit to keep Peyton Manning upright.
Indianapolis Colts: Andrus Peat OT Stanford- The Colts have to keep Andrew Luck upright if they ever want to seriously compete.
Green Bay Packers: Benardrick McKinney LB Mississippi State- A “thumper” at linebacker is just what this defense needs
New Orleans Saints: Maxx Williams TE Minnesota- I’m not buying the Josh Hill hype. Williams is another athletic target for Brees.
New England Patriots: Byron Jones CB Conneticut- I was tempted to put Eric Rowe here, but don’t think Belichick can pass up on the better athlete.
