Going into Week 8, three running backs stand out as players that must be added, especially if you are an owner of the the player they are or could be replacing. All three teams they play for, have the ability to run the ball and a commitment to keep doing so.
DeMarco Murray is on an outrageous pace in terms of carries. Murray has already carried the ball 187 times, which is already the second most carries he has had in any season. Murray is a guy who has never played all 16 games in a season. A guy who has had issues staying on the field combined with his useage this season, an injury seems likely. Randle would likely share carries with Lance Dubar, but should shoulder much the load and be the more explosive player.
Arian Foster is another player that has had issues staying healthy. He has played all 16 games only twice in his 6 year career. Foster has already missed time this season and could easily miss more time. Alfred Blue has been productive when he has had playing time. The Texans will continue to run the ball, no matter is in at running back.

Sunday saw the two widely owned running backs for the Buffalo Bills go down. Starter Fred Jackson left Sunday’s game with a groin injury. The injury will sideline him for a month. C.J. Spiller seemed like he was primed to garner the lionshare of the carries and couldn’t even survive that very same game. Spiller broke his collarbone, an injury that will sideline him for the rest of the season. Owners should turn to Bryce Brown. He should get most, if not all the carries the next few weeks. The Bills traded for Brown this off season, and will now have a chance to see what he can do.
Roster spots are hard to come by especially with bye weeks and injuries hitting your fantasy team. However, if you own Murray or Foster you must add their handcuff. If you own players who aren’t helping you or who do very little these guys will offer owners much more upside, i’m looking you owners of Steven Jackson, Maurice Jones-Drew, or Darren McFadden. Bryce Brown is a better pick up for owners who need to play him right away. Fred Jackson’s potential return makes him a short term play where Blue and Randle are long term stashes.
