Detroit Lions’ cornerback Darius Slay is a top waiver wire pick up in your IDP league as Week 4 approaches, bringing bye week issues as well as the injury plague that has already buried plenty of IDP rosters this season.
This week and here on out you are going to be playing the match-ups. This means you have to be diligent on your waiver wire. Injuries have depleted your roster. And now there are six teams on bye week. And unfortunately for the IDP aficionados most of the bye week teams this week are defensively strong. There are many holes to fill my friend, so lets get to it.

George Johnson, Defensive End, Detroit Lions: First the good news, through three games Johnson has nine tackles and 1.5 sacks. Now the better news, this week the Lions will play the New York Jets. The Jets’ are run heavy which should provide Johnson with plenty of tackle fodder. And if the Monday Night game is any indication, Johnson will have ample opportunity to amp up his sack stats.
Bennie Logan, Defensive Tackle, Philadelphia Eagles: If you are in a tackle heavy league Logan is your man. This week the Eagles’ will meet the San Francisco 49ers. In his three games Logan has amassed 14 tackles.
Sen’Derrick Marks, Defensive Tackle, Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jacksonville Jaguars’ defense spends a lot of time on the field. Bad for them but good for your IDP team. Marks will also be good for your team. He is responsible for two sacks and 10 tackles going into this game. This week the Jaguars’ will meet the San Diego Chargers. This means more quality field time for the Jaguars’ defense and Marks.
Jelani Jenkins, Linebacker, Miami Dolphins: If Jenkins is available on your waiver wire stop reading immediately and go and get him. I’ll wait. Jenkins is a must have and must start. Through three games he has collected 25 tackles and 1.5 sacks. This week he is in London playing the Oakland Raiders. If that doesn’t spell IDP stats bonanza, what does?
Sean Spence, Linebacker, Pittsburgh Steelers: Spence is a next man up pick up. Last Sunday the Steelers’ lost Ryan Shazier and Jarvis Jones due to injury. It speaks of the dire situation that retired linebacker James Harrison is back in the fold. You need Spence. It should help that the Steelers are playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ( sorry Lovie) this week.

Kyle Fuller, Defensive Back, Chicago Bears: I luv me some Fuller. This rookie is killing it. He has 19 tackles, two forced fumbles and three interceptions. This week the Bears meet divisional rivals Green Bay Packers. You know Aaron Rodgers is going to air it out. This is no time to relax. Fuller should find way to collecting more stats for your IDP team.
Darius Slay, Cornerback, Detroit Lions: Slay has yet to capture an interception. He does have 13 tackles and four passes defended. The Lions’ will play the Jets on Sunday. Slay will continue to increase his number of tackles. And if history has taught us anything it is that Geno Smith is more than happy to allow defenses to increase their interception numbers.
