Daily Fantasy Basketball Notes 3/7

Today when I woke up, my first thought was “I want to become a doctor.” Not because I would be saving lives on a daily basis, or making the world a better place. Nope. My reason is that I want to be able to say every appointment I make is a doctor’s appointment. That, my fellow FakeRoundball readers, is a glimpse into my mind of what I deal with on a daily basis.

Luckily for you Hoop Heads, all you care about it my thoughts on daily fantasy play. So let’s jump right into tonight’s eleven games. All my prices are according to DraftKings, and I got some really cheap plays tonight that will make you look like you have a PhD in DFS. Good luck, and allons-y!

Start’ Em

Higher priced guys I like:

DeMar DeRozan ($8,100) vs the Kings – DD10 has been on a tear lately. He’s been averaging almost 50 fantasy points a game over his past ten, including his last three games scoring over 30 points. Sacramento’s shooting guard defense is pitiful on their best day, so the matchup makes him even more enticing. $8,100 is a steal in my book for a guy who can easily put up 50 tonight.

Al Jefferson ($9,000) vs the Cavs – Surprisingly, the Cavs have had a pretty solid defensive frontcourt, even with Varejou being out. Hawes has been playing like a madman since being traded from Philly. But tonight is the night of big Al for me. Two 34+ point nights in a row gives me hope for another 60+ fantasy night. I even like him better than Anthony Davis tonight, so that should give you some perspective of how high I am tonight.

Lower price guys I like

Xavier Henry ($3,000) vs the Nuggets – If I am looking for a guy at the bottom of the barrel, I want a guy that potentially can give me a 20+ fantasy night. Henry is coming off back to back nights with double digit points. The over/under of this game is almost 230, so I expect to see Henry get more opportunities and good looks at the basket. His value is too good to pass up for a player who can score 30+ points once he gets hot. It is very possible that tonight can be one of those nights.

Wilson Chandler ($5,700) vs the Lakers – I don’t normally like to recommend guys from the same game in my article, but Chandler can also have a monster night like Henry. Lawson tweaked his heel last game, so theres no telling how much he can go tonight. Chandler looks like the next best option for the Nuggets lately, so going up against a bad Lakers team gives him a ton of potential to outplay his value.

Sit ‘Em

Paul Millsap ($8,600) vs the Warriors – If you listened to the FakeRoundball Roundtable podcast I do with Ricky (@RSandersFR), then you know that I am hesitant to start a guy his first game back from injury. Millsap was averaging 42 fantasy points a game before he went down, but he is too risky of a play for me at such a high price. Golden State has a much better defense than people give them credit for as well. I would much rather start DeRozan, who is cheaper and has a better matchup.

Joakim Noah ($8,200) vs the Grizzlies – I have loved everything that Noah has been doing lately. He literally has been doing it all for the Bulls lately, with two triple-doubles in the past three games. Unfortunately for Noah, all good things must come to an end. The bad news is that he sprained his thumb, so there’s no telling how that will impact his game. Even worse, Z-Bo is back for the Grizzlies tonight, who have been the best team in the paint since the All-Star break. There are simply too many things going against Noah for my liking at that price.
