The Miami Dolphins have lost tight end Dustin Keller for the season after sustaining probably the most gruesome knee injury we’ve seen in recent memory. Dustin Keller tore his ACL, MCL, PCL as well as dislocating his knee cap. This injury has left not only the Dolphins without a great pass catching option, but possibly Keller without a career.
As unfortunate that it is, the Dolphins need to replace him and his potential production.
The Dolphins have a few notable tight ends rostered: Charles Clay, who averaged 13 yards per catch last season, but fits the H-back mold, Dion Sims, the team’s fourth-round draft choice in this years draft, but he’s known as a blocking tight end and will see many snaps due to that, but the guy to look at….

Who the heck is Michael Egnew?
The man whom I’m referring to is a Mizzou product, and was Miami’s third-round draft choice in 2012. He has been praised for his pass catching ability, though his pass block ability has kept him off the field. When asked about Egnew, Miami Dolphins Head Coach Joe Philbin had this to say:
“Mike Egnew really improved an awful lot,” Philbin said. “He’s a guy we’re excited about.”
Michael Egnew has played well this pre-season, at least in the first game where he totaled 4 receptions for 52 yards. He recorded no statistics in the second game. This is his chance to prove his worth. He was in danger of being cut earlier this off-season, but Keller’s injury could save his career. Fantasy-wise he’s still considered a sleeper until we receive reports he is the guy. Until then, keep him on your radar.
