The fantasy football community is a close knit one. Many websites support each others work and help promote each others writers. This article is one such way we have worked together with another site to promote new writers for both of us. Richard Janvrin of FakePigskin.com and Amber Boskers of ffoasis.com go Head to Head to give you two predictions for Colin Kaepernick’s 2013 season.
From Richard Janvrin(@RichardJanvrin);
Running, passing and tattoos. That just about describes San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick is what you would call otherworldly. After taking over the starting QB duties in Week 10, Kaepernick did nothing but impress. As the starter, he threw for 1608 yards, 10 TDs and 3 INTS. That was in 7 regular season starts. During the entire season, he managed 415 yards rushing and 5 TDs, too.
Not only did the regular season get potential fantasy owners excited, but the 2012-2013 NFL post-season got everyone raving. In the playoffs he totaled 798 yards passing with 4 TDs and 2 INTs and also 264 yards rushing and 3 TDs. He also had a career game against the Green Bay Packers in which he RAN for 181 yards and 2 TDs. Insane.

In Fantasy Football, anytime you can have a successfully mobile QB, it will pay HUGE dividends, but according to new Packers DE Datone Jones, Kaepernick “won’t keep running”. We’ll just see, Mr. Jones.
The only downfall to Kaepernick’s fantasy prospects this year could be the injury to top target Michael Crabtree. As a result of his injury, Kaepernick will be throwing to the likes of Anquan Boldin, AJ Jenkins and Vernon Davis. All of these guys are very capable in the receiving game, but it will be hard to replace Crabtree’s production of 90+ catches.
On my board, I have Kaepernick ranked at 6th, right behind Tom Brady. I love him, though I do think the Crabtree injury will affect his value somewhat.
Michael Crabtree is slated to return in the second half of the year.
Projections: 3572 yards, 24 TDs, 9 INTs, 718 rushing yards, 7 TDs.
