CFB DFS Week 11 Preview – Day Slate

Before it gets any weirder, let’s enjoy perhaps the last CFB DFS moments of the year together! As always, I focus on DraftKings targets each week here on Fake Pigskin. My goal is to identify three to four low-cost/reasonable floor targets as foundational pieces for all my lineups.

This way, you start by boosting your remaining price per player in the range to roster as many high floor/high upside guys who we all anticipate substantial statistical output from.

Here are the Vegas odds (favorites in bold) for the 10 games included in the Saturday afternoon DK contest:
Game InfoLine|Total
MIA@VT 12:00PM ET|2.5|68
WAKE@UNC 12:00PM ET|13.5|67.5
MTSU@MRSHL 12:00PM ET|24|56.5
ND@BC 3:30PM ET|11.5|50
PSU@NEB 12:00PM ET|3|56
USC@ARIZ 3:30PM ET|14.5|68
UL@UV 3:30PM ET|4|66
TCU@WVU 12:00PM ET|3|45
IU@MSU 12:00PM ET|7|52
BAY@TTU 4:00PM ET|1.5|57.5

For example, I am not going to come at you with hot suggestions like Javonte Williams and Hendon Hooker. What I will do is point out that rostering the expensive duo will leave your average remaining price per player at $5,133. This is the price range I will focus on each week. Before every game is canceled, let’s decide this week’s plan for CFB DFS mastery!

Raheem Blackshear | RB | Virginia Tech $3,400

This is purely a missed adjustment by DraftKings on the price. The Hokies RB1, Khalil Herbert is questionable to play Saturday against Miami. If he does in fact sit out, I think Blackshear is in a great spot to produce in a projected shootout. Last week after Herbert left the game early on, the Rutgers transfer gained 63 total yards on 14 touches. Anyone that has a forecast of 15ish touches in a matchup like this can do plenty of damage. The fact that this scenario exists, should’ve been enough to boost Blackshear near the 5k price range.

Another paydown option at running back is Markese Stepp for the University of Spoiled Children. Similar to Blackshear, he’s in a juicy matchup and should see a similar amount of work in the Trojan backfield. They’ll use three running backs so it could be a little bit of a headache, but I think the price/floor combo mitigates that risk a bit.

Jarrin Pierce | WR | Middle Tennessee $3,800

What we have here is a straight up error from our DK friends. This senior wideout is averaging nearly seven catches a game this season. His 46 grabs in 2020 is good enough for seventh best in the nation. His game script is passing friendly. What more do you want?

It’s simple. Don’t over think it. Take advantage of what is arguably the best price/floor/ceiling combo at wide receiver on the board.

Fading Quarterback Chalk

I do not think this is the slate to cut budget at the quarterback position, but Virginia’s Brennan Armstrong is the most logical choice in my mind if that was my strategy. He has proven to be capable of huge production in the right spots. In fact, considering the favorable Vegas projection he has against Louisville, I would argue his price is also an error.

Chalk I Can’t Live Without

I’m getting in on the Javonte Williams party so obviously this will absolutely be the first game this season he doesn’t find the end zone. You’ve been warned. Also, Hendon Hooker and USC’s offense in general will be a significant part of my approach Saturday afternoon.

Good luck for the CFB DFS Week 11 day slate! Follow me on twitter @realBobbyAdcock compliments and insults are always welcomed.
