There are many reasons why fantasy sports, especially in the small scale of DFS is a love hate relationship. That relationship hinged on whether or not you rostered the Patriots defense last week. I certainly advised that you did.
On FanDuel I do not usually advice or partake in paying up at defense. This Miami situation this year seems like a different animal though. I fully expect whomever plays them each week will be the chalk. On to this weeks main slate of games there are a few savory match ups.
Quarterback
Patrick Mahomes – $9,200
He is top option in the most anticipated game of the week. I am not sure defense matters when it comes to Mahomes. He has the speed on the field and the cannon to get the ball deep down the field. Also a potential lack of a run game may mean more throws.
Fantasy just got a whole lot better thanks to Monkey Knife Fight. With fast-paced games like Rapid Fire and Either/Or, it’s never been easier to play fantasy and win. New to MKF? Get Exclusive $100 Deposit Match + Free $5 Game
Jameis Winston – $7,300
I may be one of the few who have not given up on him this year. He is certainly in a great spot to have a great fantasy day. Let’s see it, please.
Kyle Allen – $6,000
Here is my discount pick for the week. There are some good mid to high priced options I want to use this week at other positions. The spot should be good enough to warrant him as a pick.
Running Back
Christian McCaffrey – $8,900
I expect a full compliment of targets and rushes to help his new QB.
Ezekiel Elliott – $8,800
As I already mentioned the week you get the Dolphins you are in the smash spot. The Cowboys’ have a few injuries in the passing game and I would assume they want to get Zeke fed in this one.
Chris Carson – $7,000
Carson I feel is in a good enough spot this week and do not feel like he will be owned a bunch this week. He coughed up two fumbles last week and Rashaad Penny got the touchdown last week. Have no fear, play Carson.
Devonta Freeman – $6,200
Another possible under owned option here. The Falcons will get Freeman going this week.
Frank Gore – $5,700
It’s 2019 and Frank Gore is a play for me this week? All the puzzle pieces just fit here. The Bengals have been atrocious versus the run.

Darwin Thompson – $4,500
This is only speculative for me. If reports come out that LeSean McCoy will be limited or out then I will absolutely gamble on Darwin.
Wide Receivers
Davante Adams – $8,200
So far Davante has been solid, but he hasn’t been scoring like he did last year. He gets back to elite level this week.
Michael Thomas – $8,000
His floor is so high and with the question mark at QB, I do not expect his usual ownership numbers.
JuJu Smith-Schuster – $7,500
The Steelers’ offense actually began to click when Mason Rudolph came in last week. While the secondary wide outs battle for who is starting JuJu should garner his top target share.
Sammy Watkins – $7,100
Week one darling, Sammy Watkins makes his return as a target for me. The Ravens will see there first test on defense and all three wide outs can get behind this defense. I trust Watkins to get the most targets though.
Mike Evans – $7,100
Every one is well aware of Evans struggles thus far. He has not forgotten how to play football. Jameis should be able to get the ball down field versus the sub par Giants.
Kenny Golladay – $7,000
The Eagles seem to enjoy letting top wide receivers have big days. If the Eagles aren’t going to try and stop him, he has to be rostered.
DJ Moore – $6,500
Moore continues to be my preferred option for the Panthers. Curtis Samuel had a similar target share to Moore last week, yet DJ is likely to win the target battle each week.
Mecole Hardman – $6,300
Demarcus Robinson stole the show last week although Hardman should have been the better play. He had a second long touchdown called back. I trust his speed more than Robinson.
Marquise Brown – $6,100
I fully expect the Chiefs to lead and win this game. The top receiving options for the Ravens are put into play for me based on that thought.
Josh Gordon – $6,000
With the Patriots showcasing Antonio Brown‘s special guest appearance last week, the forgotten man was Gordon. His value goes back up as the primary deep threat against a putrid Jet’s secondary.
Tight End
Zach Ertz – $6,900
Ertz was thrust back into top tight end tier after the eagles lost Desean Jackson and Alshon Jeffrey. Carson Wentz looks for Ertz early and often.
Mark Andrews – $6,800
Andrews is still the main focus in Lamar Jackson‘s passing attack.
Evan Engram – $6,400
The Bucs should be able to score and the Giants are likely to play catch up. Daniel Jones hopefully can help jump start this offense.
Eric Ebron $5,700
I tried to give a few more cheaper options this week to make the line up options fit together. Ebron continues to get targets and T.Y. Hilton is a little banged up this week.
Defense
Cowboys – $5,000
I was very tempted to just write the word Dolphins. The Cowboys should win in blowout fashion and its hard to see the them giving up more than a few points if any.
Vikings – $4,200
The Raiders shown last week that their offense is a work in progress. The Vikings are a home favorite and with good talent on defense they should be a great play.
