Fantasy Football: Week 10 Waiver Wire Options

Browns Duke Johnson

The Week 10 Waiver Wire has options at all positions that can be found in almost every league. These players can help you both in the short or long term.

Who should you be adding this week?

Bye Weeks: Denver, Minnesota, Baltimore, Houston
Duke Johnson Jr. | RB | Cleveland Browns

Yahoo – 48%
ESPN – 50%

So far, the biggest benefactor of the coaching change in Cleveland is Duke Johnson Jr. The Browns remembered he existed thanks to the RB coach being elevated to offensive coordinator. As a pure rushers, he only saw one carry for 8 yards.

His value came in the passing game where he caught all 9 of his targets for 78 yards and 2 TDs. Going forward this should be his role, especially on a team that will be down and need to throw. Cleveland faces the Falcons, Bengals Texans over the next month with a bye week mixed in. Those in PPR leagues looking for RB depth should target him this week.

Mike Davis | RB | Seattle Seahawks

Yahoo – 24%
ESPN – 19%

Here we go again! Chris Carson, who was questionable coming into their game with the Chargers, was forced to sit out the second half with a hip injury. It was Mike Davis who stepped in and saw the bulk of the work. He gained 62 yards on 15 carries and another 45 yards on 7 catches.

I would expect Seattle to be without Carson this week and potentially over the next couple. If you need an RB to play in the short term look at Davis this week.

Ito Smith | RB | Atlanta Falcons

Yahoo – 44%
ESPN – 32%

With the bye weeks and injuries, it has been hard to hold someone like Ito Smith unless you needed someone to start for your team. But that needs to change now, especially if you’re a Tevin Coleman owner.

Smith has filled the change of pace RB role in Atlanta very nicely since Devonta Freeman went down. He was incredibly impressive on Sunday with 60 yards (6 YPC) and a TD against a good Washington rush defense.

In the short term he can be a reliable RB to use when you’re in a bind. If something were to happen to Coleman you would have a workhorse on a good offense. There is one more 6 team bye week but it is mostly non-fantasy relevant offenses so holding him should be easier to accomplish.

If you are looking for depth and potential upside, add Smith this week!

Marquez Valdes-Scantling | WR | Green Bay Packers

Yahoo – 38%
ESPN – 21%

I’m not sure what Marquez Valdes-Scantling has to do to be more universally owned. The Packers rookie WR is emerging as the best WR in this offense not named Davante Adams.

The volume has been their over their last 4 games seeing 27 targets in that span. The production has been there as well, having either 100 yards or a TD.

It looks as if Geronimo Allison may need surgery on his injured groin. The injury could keep him out for the rest of the season.

With the Packers upcoming schedule including games against Atlanta, Seattle and Minnesota, there is no reason to assume he will be slowing down. Teams looking for WR help the rest of the way should add MVS this week!

Cordarrelle Patterson | WR | New England Patriots

Yahoo – 5%
ESPN – 10%

With Sony Michel out for the Pats and likely to miss more time, Cordarrelle Patterson has become a thing. He has seen double digit carries in back to back games and is getting work around the goal line.

He is basically what Ty Montgomery was for Green Bay at the end of 2016.

Tre’Quan Smith | WR | New Orleans Saints

Yahoo – 28%
ESPN – 17%

If you are looking for potential upside in a high powered offense, Tre’Quan Smith is your man. The rookie WR has emerged as the WR2 in this offense. Obviously this offense filters most of their volume through Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara but there is still work to be had.

Over the past 4 weeks, he has seen 3 targets or more in every game. He is a big play WR that can score anytime he touches the ball. His upside is what we saw against Washington where he caught all 3 targets for 111 yards and 2 TDs. There is plenty of downside with him as well.

If you need a dart throw with tremendous upside, add Smith this week.

Anthony Miller | WR | Chicago Bears

Yahoo – 11%
ESPN – 10%

While the yardage for Anthony Miller hasn’t been there thus far, the volume has. It seems like only a matter of time before he has a monster game and everyone runs to the wire to add him. He has 24 targets over the last month, including 6 or more each of the past three weeks.

With Allen Robinson out nursing a groin injury, the potential is even greater. Miller has found the end zone in 2 of the past 4 weeks for Chicago. With Detroit twice, Minnesota and the Giants over the next 4 weeks, I expect big games will happen for the rookie. Add him now before he explodes.

Adam Humphries | WR | Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Yahoo – 2%
ESPN – 3%

Adam Humphries is becoming a thing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has seen 27 targets over the past 3 weeks. Those in need of WR in PPR should look his way. He caught 7 passes for 76 yards two weeks ago and backed it up with 8 catches for 82 yards.

Humphries is a big part of their offense and has produced with both Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jameis Winston.

Tampa Bay has a defense that allows all kinds production to opposing offense forcing the Buccaneers to keep pace. There should be plenty of volume even with Mike Evans, O.J. Howard and Chris Godwin getting work.

Jack Doyle | TE | Indianapolis Colts

Yahoo – 38%
ESPN – 40%

Many of your leaguemates are likely not thinking about Jack Doyle with the Colts on bye this past week, but he should be high on your priority list if you need TE help. I’m looking at you, Kyle Rudolph owners!

Doyle should finally be basically 100% coming out of the bye. QB Andrew Luck reminded everyone in their last game against Oakland how valuable he can be. Doyle was pelted with targets on the drive that gave the Colts the lead in the 4th quarter.

He should see plenty of volume as the primary TD and make Eric Ebron very TD dependent for fantasy purposes. Add Doyle this week!
