Welcome to my first annual IDP Big Board for the upcoming 2016 NFL Draft, there is so much IDP talent that’s incoming that it’s hard to find a starting point. I jot down pretty much my top 50 and the type of impact they’ll provide in the IDP community and this will all change once the draft comes and goes, then my actual rankings will be out (positional and top 75 overall). I love more guys than the average draftnik and down on others whereas other draftniks are higher on, I could be wrong but then again I was higher on Jamie Collins, Telvin Smith, Kwon Alexander, Avery Williamson and Jordan Hicks than most – I create trends, not follow them. *CHEERS* Draft Season is here (so is Free Agency) I welcome all feedback and discussion, you could provide me things I may have missed on some guys as we all got a different set of eyes and look at things differently, we’re here to help and grow together while dominating your league.
| IDPwithBEE 2016 NFL DRAFT IDP BIG BOARD | |||
| RK | PLAYER | TEAM/POS | QUICK HITS |
MYLES JACK | UCLA/LB | explosive all-around LB, immediate impact
DARRON LEE | OSU/LB | phenomenal athlete, quick to the ball, playmaker
JOSHUA PERRY | OSU/LB | underrated athlete, will be a 3-down LB in the NFL
DEFOREST BUCKNER | OREGON/DL | can play inside/outside, think Calais/Tuck
NOAH SPENCE | E.KENTUCKY/DL | stupid quick off the edge that blends will with his power and keep his head straight, don’t throw away talent like Johnny.
JOEY BOSA | OSU/DL | disruptive force, only bummer for me is if he moves to OLB in a 3-4 scheme
REGGIE RAGLAND | ALABAMA/LB | thumper, could move to OLB
LEONARD FLOYD | UGA/LB | dynamic edge rusher
KEVIN DODD | CLEMSON/DE | under the radar pass rusher, patient and can drop back into coverage I could see him play OLB or DE
EMMANUEL OGBAH | OKLAHOMA STATE/DL | great athletcism with size and power
ROBERT NKEMDICHE | OLE MISS/DL | potential to become one of the top defensive players out of this draft, needs to stay focused
SHAQ LAWSON | CLEMSON/DE | average athlete but is active & intense, will get to the QB
JAYLON SMITH | NOTRE DAME/LB | unfortunately he’ll miss the season recovering from a serious knee injury, if he comes back from that he’s arguably the best LB in this class has the do-it-all tools
JALEN RAMSEY | FSU/DB | freakish athlete, could play CB or S – S would be ideal for his future IDP owners
KENTRELL BROTHERS | MIZZOU/LB | solid rangy LB, wraps up potential to become an every down LB, think David Harris-ish
ANTONIO MORRISON | FLORIDA/LB | quick off edge, sideline to sideline speed & can drop back in coverage possibly my “Kwon” this year
SU’A CRAVENS | USC/LB | needs to go to a team that’ll use him on the edge, that’s where he’ll excel
DEION JONES | LSU/LB | not physical but has no problem getting into coverage & missed too many tackles (improve in this area)
JORDAN JENKINS | UGA/LB | can play OLB or DE, built for either and athletic too
MILES KILLEBREW | S.UTAH/DB | under the radar box safety right now, closing speed and instincts this is your “Deone Bucannon” of the NFL Draft
BLAKE MARTINEZ | STANFORD/LB | solid against run, underrated athlete
CARL NASSIB | PSU/DL | led nation with 15.5 sacks, has some solid push/power, quick off snap
SHILIQUE CALHOUN | MSU/DL | nice mix of pass rushing moves & improved in shedding blocks, potentially can play 3-4 OLB
JONATHAN BULLARD | FLORDIA/DL | good against the run & can move inside in sub packages
VERNON BUTLER | LaTECH/DL | disrupts pocket, good use of hands going to be tremendous at the next level
SHELDON RANKINS | LOUISVILLE/DL | versatile, quick and explosive
TYLER MATAKEVICH | TEMPLE/LB | not going to blow you away with speed but is a pure football player, has the intangibles you want (instinctive, smart and fiery) always around the ball
DARIAN THOMPSON | BOISE ST/DB | another rookie that’ll likely rise up once draft hits, closing speed is there and has range in coverage, ball hawk in run support –
DOMINIQUE ALEXANDER | OKLAHOMA/LB | rarely misses tackles but i see limited upside here
KYLER FACKRELL | UTAH STATE/LB | sort of a poor mans Connor Barwin, could play at all 3 phases of the LB position
JOSH FORREST | KENTUCKY/LB | thick thumper against the run with a blend of athleticism, potential to be a 3-down LB but can excel as a 2-down LB
YANNICK NGAKOUE | MARYLAND/LB | solid edge rusher who has the potential to move up a handful of spots here, comfortable in space
KAMALEI CORRERA | BOISE ST/DL | jumped out on tape, can get after the QB and drop back into coverage (potential to rise in actual rankings once draft comes)
NICK VIGIL | UTAH STATE/LB | stout run defender & produced 144 tackles last year
MACKENSIE ALEXANDER | CLEMSON/DB | arguably the best pure corner in the draft, very smooth and fluid, could put up Ronald Darby type numbers in rookie season
JAMES COWSER | S.UTAH/DL | finished as the #1 DL in the 3-cone drill, disrupts pocket & gets after the QB
SCOOBY WRIGHT | ARIZONA/LB | just didnt jump out to me on tape but could land in a decent situation where he can be productive, ok against the run, lack of speed though
DADI NICOLAS | VaTECH/LB | solid off the edge with some speed
ELI APPLE | OSU/DB | physical corner & tall – could post some Breeland type seasons
ANDREW BILLINGS | BAYLOR/DL | run stuffer, pushes pocket with solid strength/power
BRONSON KAUFUSI | BYU/DL | solid athleticism, good hands, best suited as a 4-3 DE. Not bendy but a good pass rusher nonetheless oh and he’s big 6’6 and has the potential to rise once my rankings hit after the draft, again – so much DL talent it’s ridiculous
SHELDON DAY | NOTRE DAME/DL | quick, powerful hands and strong
JEREMY CASH | DUKE/DB | plays around the LOS, potential hybrid LB/S type player
VERNON HARGREAVES | FLORIDA/DB | love Vernon, thing is he’s a CB and CB’s are dime a dozen in IDP he could have a Verrett type IDP profile
KENDALL FULLER | VaTECH/DB | possibly another Byron Jones/Eric Rowe situation where he’d be better suited with a move to safety at next level
KENNY CLARK | UCLA/DL | disruptive force in the backfield, good hands upside IDP profile of Ngata (BAL days)
KARL JOSEPH | WVU/DB | better suited as a FS at next level as tackling isn’t his strong suite, has some serious potential/upside to be near the top but in IDP world, we like safeties that pile up tackles, sorry Karl.
CHRIS JONES | MISS ST/DL | interior pass rusher inside, so much DT talent in this draft there’ll be a lot of shuffling after draft.
WILLIAM JACKSON | HOUSTON/DB | tall, blazing speed corner – could put up numbers in zone scheme
ALEX MCCALISTER | FLORIDA/DL | situational pass rusher (Ealy type) nice blend of athleticism and quick off edge
