Fantasy Booking WWE Fastlane

I am a lifelong pro wrestling fan. However when I was a kid and found out that it was “fake” I immediately cared less about the outcome of the matches, and more about how the matches and card are put together as well as the long term story lines. Since then I have always been an armchair booker, but now I will be bringing my thoughts to you. In this first edition of Fantasy Booking, I book the upcoming Fastlane event.

Ziggler/Ryback/Rowan vs. Rollins/Kane/Big Show

These six guys have been feuding for a bit now, with the Authority firing Ziggler/Ryback/Rowan. However it is really getting stale to me, because now that Ziggler/Ryback/Rowan all have their jobs back, the story doesn’t make much sense to me on why they are all still fighting. Revenge? maybe but that sounds a little silly. For the finish of this match, I would have Rollins pin Ziggler cleanly in the ring. Rollins will be cashing in his Money In The Bank title shot soon, so I would think you would want him to look strong heading into that. This would help with doing so.

Goldust vs. Stardust

The build up to this match has been done very well. Regardless of the outcome at Fastlane, many would like to see a rematch from these two at Wrestlemania 31. However I think it should end here because we already understand what has happened. Since Stardust is more of an up and coming character, he wins this match. I would then start pushing him into the midcard of singles matches. Goldust goes on hiatus.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos (C) vs. Cesaro/Tyson Kidd

The story between these two teams ultimately involves Jimmy Uso’s wife Naomi and Tyson Kidd’s wife Natalya. I’m not a fan of the storyline and it would end right here. I would make sure to have the two divas get involved in the match, and ultimately The Usos get the win. As much as I like the team of both Kidd and Cesaro I just don’t see them clicking as a team. So after the match I would have Cesaro and Kidd arguing. This would set up to a future tag failures and ultimately a big singles match between the two down the road. (Of course if this was ECW circa 1997 I would just have Cesaro take out everyone after the match including the women.)

Bad News Barrett vs. Dean Ambrose

I absolutely loved the segment on last week’s Raw when Ambrose tied Barrett’s hands around the post and forced him to sign the contract for this match. I would have Ambrose win this match for two reasons. First being the elevation of the Intercontinental Title to mean a little more. People love ambrose and would see him with the belt which would make it mean even a little bit more instead of it just rotting away on Barrett. Secondly because the way Barrett signed the contract, he could argue that the match was invalid somehow and demand a rematch, possibly as a low to mid card Wrestlemania 31 match.

Sting/Triple H face to face meeting

Fantasy just got a whole lot better thanks to Monkey Knife Fight. With fast-paced games like Rapid Fire and Either/Or, it’s never been easier to play fantasy and win. New to MKF? Get Exclusive $100 Deposit Match + Free $5 Game

We still don’t know why Sting is going after Triple H other than he is a vigilante. So I would have Sting show up but then get jumped from behind by Kane and Big Show. Triple H gives Sting the Pedigree and they cuts a promo on him in the ring. They then leave him laying in the middle of the ring. This gets some heat on Triple H and gives a reason for Sting to want a match with Triple H at Wrestlemania.

Nikki Bella vs. Page

I’m not really sure what to do with this one. I would probably have Brie Bella interfere and somehow Nikki Bella gets the win, retaining the championship. This would then set up a future rematch at Wrestlemania and I would make it some sort of gimmick match where Brie Bella can’t interfere.

U.S. Championship Match: Rusev (C) vs John Cena

The build up between these two has actually been pretty well done in my opinion. Rusev is still undefeated and they have made him look very strong. Because Cena is still one of the top superstars in the company for numerous reasons, so you can’t just have Rusev destroy him. Plus Cena with the US Title at this point in his career wouldn’t help him or elevate the title I don’t think. I would have Rusev lose by DQ somehow. That way he still hasn’t been pinned or submitted  (which would still allow for the undefeated story to continue) and retains the title, without making Cena look bad. I would then have a No DQ rematch at Wrestlemania 31.

Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan

I moved this match to the main event for a few reasons, First is that it is for the right to be the number one contender and a title shot against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 31. At this point that is more important than the U.S. Title, Rusev or John Cena. They have also been putting a lot of TV time into the story between these two so everyone is talking about it. Near the end of the match I would have Kane and Big Show out run out once again ( the FINAL time we see these 2 involved in this storyline), but Bryan and Reigns would take them out collectively.Because you don’t want to just poo poo the Royal Rumble victory ( even though they already have by having this match in the first place), Reigns gets the win. After the match I would have Daniel Bryan do something to start his heel turn. he has already shown some pretty heelish tendencies over the past few weeks so I would run with it.
