Club manager David Moyes has just confirmed that Rooney is set to miss Man United’s trip to face Newcastle United at St. James Park on Saturday with a badly bruised toe. The injury appears bad enough to also cause Rooney to miss the 2nd leg of the Champions League tie at Bayern Munich next week as Moyes told MUTV “He’s got a terrible toe. Not only is it a problem for this game, it could be a problem for the Munich match.” A huge blow for the Red Devils as they are already without Robin van Persie.
