NFL 2019 Week 13: The Good, the Bad and the Fugly

I am not sure about you, but Week 13 was that WTF is going on kinda week in NFL, and my fantasy playoff hopes. What kind of world do we live in when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington are the highest scoring fantasy defenses? When Jameis Winston doesn’t toss a single touchdown (okay he didn’t have an interception either…but)? And when the Miami Dolphins have a punter throw a touchdown pass to the kicker!!!!! AUGH!

I digress.

THE GOOD

As stated earlier in a rant…so you might have missed it, Washington’s defense was good. And it was collectively good: linebacker, Chris Odom collected four total tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble. Safety Landon Collins, went on to add eight total tackles, while defensive end, Matt Ioannidis, contributed three total tackles and two sacks. They were by no means the only defensive players on Washington balling out on Sunday. Linebacker, Montez Sweat had three tackles and 1.5 sacks, and cornerback Quinton Dunbar and safety Montae Nicholson, led the team with five total tackles.

It was a good day to be rooting for Washington.

THE BAD

While the Denver Broncos are sputtering, defensive end, Derek Wolfe, was having a good year. In fact, in last week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, he had two sacks and was leading the Broncos with seven sacks for the season. Then, with two minutes left in a game on a play that was blown dead, Wolfe dislocated his left elbow. Wolfe will most likely be out for the rest of the season.

That’s bad.

THE FUGLY

Minnesota Vikings’, Xavier Rhodes, is having a terrible season. Is that an understatement? So he forced a fumble from DK Metcalf in the fourth quarter? Ya! That was after he was torched for a touchdown by…who?

Per Pro Football Focus, going into the game against the Seattle Seahawks, Rhodes was giving opposing quarterbacks a passer rating of 126 and 9.5 yards per attempt. I’m no math whiz but that ain’t good unless you are the opposing quarterback.

And sorry but if you aren’t doing good, stalking the sideline and throwing your helmet is fugly.
