Week 6 Quarterback Streaming Options

The Week 6 quarterback streaming options leave a LOT to be desired. Hopefully you have better options but between injuries and bye weeks, there will be a need. If you need to replace Jacoby Brissett, Josh Allen or Mason Rudolph it means you are digging deep. Luckily for you I have three names that can be found in the majority of fantasy football leagues.

Before we head into Week 6, let’s take a look back at Week 5. Andy Dalton was a Stud despite doing nothing for 2 1/2 quarters. He finished the week as a Top 10 option at the position. Jacoby Brissett and Kyle Allen while they didn’t kill your fantasy team, they also weren’t great. Both finished the Week as top 20 options but just barely.

Case Keenum – 5% Owned on Yahoo

Gross right? Nobody is going to feel good about using Case Keenum at Miami but if the shoe fits, wear it? The Dolphins defense has been awful this season. They have allowed opponents to score 163 which is the worst in the NFL through 5 weeks. This team was on a bye a week ago and is still leading the NFL! Before the injury and mess that was his start against the Giants, Keenum had multiple touchdowns in all three of his starts including eclipsing the 300 yard mark in 2 of those.

Terry McLaurin is back and another week removed from the injury that kept him out in Week 4. Keenum and Scary Terry had a nice connection before their respective injuries. Obviously the floor is low but the ceiling is actually pretty high for a quarterback that is available in 95% of Yahoo! Fantasy leagues. If you are in need of upside break glass in Case of emergency.

Gardner Minshew – 50% Owned on Yahoo

Looking for safety in your quarterback streamer this week? Gardner Minshew is the starting quarterback you should be targeting. He is one of three QBs to have 16 plus fantasy points in every start this season. The other two to complete this feat? Patrick Mahomes and Kyler Murray. Pretty good company for a player many folks had never heard of until the Uncle Rico comparisons started happening.

This week Minshew is home to take on a New Orleans Saints defense that is allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing passers despite having a ton of talent on that side of the ball. D.J. Chark has emerged as a legit difference maker on the outside and should produce once again this week. The Saints have also been really good against opposing fantasy running backs so the Jaguars will likely need to utilize Minshew’s arm if they want to stay in the game. Look for Minshew to continue his trend have another strong week for his fantasy owners.

Kirk Cousins – 45% Owned on Yahoo

Do we dare trust Kirk Cousins to produce in back to back weeks? I think the answer is yes. This week the Vikings are home to face a Philadelphia Eagles pass defense that is not good.

Looking at their fantasy points against they are in the middle of the pack but a Luke Falk performance can heavily sway those totals. The Eagles have allowed a 300 yard passing and multiple touchdown performance three times this season. Cousins has the ability and weapons to make it four.

Philly has also been great against the run thus far which should force Minnesota to deploy more Dalvin Cook in the passing game. This should make more safe throws with upside for Cousins to pile up the yardage. Fire up Cousins this week at home.

Good luck streamin’ and dreamin’ in Week 6 of the NFL season!
