Week 14 TNF Fantasy Preview

by Stepmom Lauren

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Tennessee Titans

Well, I suppose the great Thursday night match-ups had to come to an end.  Week 14 TNF showcases the 4-8 Jacksonville Jaguars in Tennessee against the 6-6 Titans.

Woo.  Hoo.

Does anyone even care about this game?  There previous match-up on September 9 gave us a whopping score of 9-6 in favor of the Titans.  I should also add that there were ZERO touchdowns scored and about 255 total passing yards among both quarterbacks.  The Jags totaled only 232 yards in the entire game, and not to be out-done, the Titans one-uped the Jags and totaled 233 yards of offense.

There is a silver lining hiding amid the gloomy, boring cloud of Week 14 TNF.  This game is going to center around both of these defenses.  So, not as exciting as a high scoring shootout, but the D/ST for both the Jaguars and the Titans are worth a start in Thursday’s match-up.

Oh, let’s not forget the kickers.   No, seriously.  They were the only players that scored in their first meeting this year.

I have to apologize because this article is going to be brief.  There just aren’t many viable fantasy starters in this match-up.  So, without further ado, here is who you should or could start in Week 14 TNF.

Leonard Fournette

Fournette has served his one week suspension for throwing hands two weeks ago against Buffalo.  Fournette is literally the only running back I would start from either team and the only Jaguar I would start out of all the positions.

Jaguars Defense/Special Teams

Looks like Jaguars defense has finally returned!  Maybe, for now, anyway.  FantasyPros has them ranked at 6th behind the Titans, Chargers, Bills, Steelers, and Broncos.  The Jags managed to hold the Colts at bay last week with only 265 total yards and zero touchdowns from the TD Machine Luck.  I think Week TNF will be another excellent showing and will be able to bottle up and take down Mariota.

Titans Defense/Special Teams

I know the Titan’s defense didn’t look as stellar as they usually do last week.  However, this week they face Cody Kessler.  It’s almost as good as facing Blake Bortles.  Unless some Week 14 TNF fairy shows up and ruins all of our fantasy advice, the Titans should keep the Jaguars offense on their heels and hopefully keep Kessler on his butt behind the line of scrimmage.  FantasyPros has the Titans ranked 1st this week.

Jaguars and Titans Kickers

If you have ’em, start ’em.

Honorable Mention: Corey Davis

I only bring up Corey Davis for those of you in deep PPR leagues suffering from the injury woes.  I don’t think he’ll have an awesome game, but he has proven himself a reliable target for Mariota.  If you are struggling with starting your WR3 spots, I suggest using the Start/Sit Tools from both FantasyPros and The Fantasy Footballers.

As for everyone else…. sit them all.
