Week 7 College Football Picks Against the Spread

Duke David Cutcliffe

The College Football season is flying by and we will be preparing for Bowl Season before we know it. That said, let’s enjoy the action we still have and make some College Football picks against the spread for Week 7!

Before we dive in head first, lets look back to Week 6 where your boy was a fiery 5-1 ATS in reality and 6-0 if you want to include the omission of State after Arizona. The pick should have been the Sun Devils and not the Wildcats. Either way it was a great week and was on the heels of a 4-2 Week 5. I’m looking to stay hot and keep rolling after going 9-3 past two weeks.

Duke Blue Devils +3 at Georgia Tech

The Blue Devils come into this game after a bye and after their first loss of the season. They head on the road this week take on Georgia Tech. Typically teams who are unfamiliar with the triple option will struggle on the defensive side of the ball.

Fortunately for the Blue Devils, this will be the second time this season they have seen a triple option look. In Week 1, Duke rolled Army, who also runs the triple option to the tune of 34-14.

Tech on the other hand comes into this game off a massive victory against a Louisville team that wanted no part of them a week ago. More on the Cardinal in a bit. The Bees have been underwhelming both SU and ATS. They are 2-4 against the number and their only wins have come against Alcorn State, Bowling Green and the aforementioned Cardinal.

David Cutcliffe is fantastic as an underdog and will have his boys ready to go. I think Duke wins this game outright but Duke +3 is the absolute right side. Take the FG on the road and enjoy the ride.

Pick: Duke +3

Boston College Eagles -13.5 at Louisville Cardinals

For me this is a play against Louisville. This team was playing well against a below average Florida State team until they blew it late. They followed it up a awful performance against Georgia Tech. The defense was not there for a downhill rush attack.

This week Boston College comes to Louisville with a similar plan in mind. They are going to lineup and run downhill. Bobby Petrino’s boys are not here for another physical rush attack. If A.J. Dillon plays I love this game even more but am fine even if he doesn’t.

I expect Steve Addazio to have his team ready to roll. The Eagles will get up big and not look back.

Pick: Boston College -13.5

Iowa State Cyclones +6.5 vs West Virginia Mountaineers

Want to talk about an underdog I love and expect not only cover but win outright? Iowa State may be my favorite play this week.

It may be intimidating to step in front of Will Grier, David Sills and the West Virginia pass attack but now is the time. Everyone is looking forward to their November run against Texas, TCU, Oklahoma State and OU. While that is certainly a murders row of teams, they better not overlook the Cyclones.

Matt Campbell and his boys will be ready this week. RB David Montgomery is a legit NFL talent. I expect Iowa State to lean on him this week to not only provide a punch offensively but help keep the Mountaineer offense on the sidelines.

The Mountaineer defense is legit and will be challenge for new starter Brock Purdy. He did perform well a week ago against a strong Oklahoma State team a week ago throwing for 300 plus yards and 4 TDs.

I love getting points with the home team in a night game. If you want to aggressive you can sprinkle that money line but taking +6.5 or buying it +7 is the side to be on this week.

Pick: Iowa State +6.5

Bonus Picks: Pitt Panthers +21, Oregon Ducks +3, Wisconsin Badgers +9
