Fantasy Baseball – Catcher Rankings

With just over a month until real competitive baseball it is time to put those draft boards together. And what better way to start than by getting the horrible catcher rankings out of the way. In December and January I published my points rankings and Damian has just finished publishing his roto rankings, as well However, a lot has changed since I did my rankings and now it is time to update them and add in my roto rankings as well. I am going to break this article down into two sets of rankings so just scroll to the format that suits you.

As always Posey stands head and shoulders above the position, and then there is a small tier behind him before the position quickly gets pretty horrible pretty quick. Fortunately, I avoid two catcher rules in most of my leagues because in that format this is a horrible position and I would probably aim to grab any of the top three that slipped a fraction before, making sure my second catcher was at least among my top 21 for roto (if not top 15). In single catcher leagues there is a serious case to be made for just leaving it late and taking whoever is available because people really shouldn’t be taking two catchers.

Once again I have broken the rankings into tiers with rankings coming within those tiers.

All positional eligibility is determined by ESPN (20 games minimum at the position in the previous season).
