When Eliaquim Mangala was sent off on Sunday, Man City fans shrugged because at least they have Vincent Kompany and Martin Demichellis, but when Kompany went down there was a bit more panic. For fantasy owners the despair is just as real because a relatively cozy match up against a misfiring Sunderland would be a dream with only two available centre backs to pick from. Now we are looking at the possibility of Dedryck Boyata stepping in or possibly even Pablo Zabaleta or Bacary Sagna sliding across to fill the void. All of that is question marks fantasy owners just don’t need given the sheer number of questions surrounding the short week.
On that note this is the first midweek round of matches this season, and for injuries it’s a nightmare. A week between games gives players chances to be assessed and the news filter out to us but this week is a new form of carnage with Newcastle suffering 13 injuries right now! However, during this week which will be full of questions right up until roster locks tomorrow there is one awesome saving grace on twitter.
