Club manager David Moyes announced on Thursday that Rooney will indeed not only return to the squad this season, but return in time for Matchweek 35. After a disappointing Champions League result against Bayern Munich, it was said that Rooney would miss the remaining matches with a chipped toe bone. Now the striker has returned to full contact training and is on pace to make the teamsheet, with the injury being said to be a bad bruise that has subsided enough to play.
