Özil came into Tuesday’s Champion’s League match at Bayern receiving praise from Arsenal boss Arsene Wegner, saying he was over the stretch of recent poor form resulting from the penalty kick miss in the 1st leg. But, it was more of the same and to make matters worse, Özil was forced from the match at halftime with a hamstring injury. In the post-match media conference, Wegner said the injury appears to be quite serious and Özil is most likely out for a couple of weeks.
