Week 5 was a successful on many fronts. DK Metcalf flexed in primetime, Philip Lindsay trampled LA while playing bigger than his stature, and F1 Mclaurin was flat against the Patriots. Let’s hope Week 6 Start or Sit is just as good!
Players who will shine
Adrian Peterson (Wash @ Mia 1pm est)
AP has been mostly relegated to the bench in recent weeks as the Skins have been pitiful on offense. Playing from behind extremely early has been to norm over the last few weeks, as has running ball while playing catch up. New interim head coach, Bill Callahan, has already said he wants to establish the ground attack and stick to it. There is no better opponent to deploy a rush heavy gameplan against than the Miami Dolphins, who have surrendered 7 rushing TDs already and are allowing 4.8 yards per attempt. With only Chris Thompson as competition for carries, and a new commitment to running the ball, we will see Washington use Peterson All-Day and especially near the goal line.
Prediction: 17 car 73 yards 1 td, 2 rec 14 yards: 15.7 pts
Stefon Diggs (Phi @ Min 1pm est)
He has likely dug many fantasy owners a hole in the standings with his many disappointing performances so far in 2019. Diggs has been a distant second to Adam Thielen in the pecking order which has fueled the fire to rumors of a trade. The team and Stefon seemed to hash things out prior to last week, and although he only caught 4 balls, he was heavily involved. This week, he faces an Eagles defense who is weak against WR’s and is allowing over 28 fantasy points per game so far against the position. The Vikings will try their darndest to get their running game going but will find no success against the NFL’s leading rush defense. This will be a game won in the air and the big play ability of Stefon Diggs will be in the starring role.
Prediction: 1 car 9 yards, 6 rec 83 yards 1 td: 18.2 pts
Noah Fant (Ten @ Den 4:25pm est)
The TE position is a wasteland of feast or famine on a weekly basis. Exploiting matchups has become the most effective way of predicting outcomes and this week Fant has one of the best in Week 6. The Titans have allowed a touchdown in all but one game to TE’s so far in 2019 and the TD party will continue in Denver. Tennessee defends receivers at an elite level, which will force Joe Flacco to look for alternative options this Sunday. Those options include Fant, who will breakout and show his athleticism.
Prediction: 5 rec 64 yards 1 td: 14.9 pts
Ride the Pine
Jordan Howard (Phi @ Min 1pm est)
The Eagles have been feeding Howard plenty the last 3 weeks, with him amassing over 180 yards and 4 TDs rushing while adding 3 receptions and a TD. He has regained the role of starter in Philadelphia’s backfield and been used as the goal line guy since Week 3. His streak of scoring will come to an end this week against the Vikings, though. Minnesota has only allowed 1 rushing touchdown so far, while giving up 2 through the air. Howard will find little running room this week and cede more playing time to the better receiver Miles Sanders this week.
Prediction: 10 car 36 yards, 1 rec 6 yards: 4.7 pts
Giants WRs (NYG @ NE TNF 8:20pm est)
The only guy who anyone would even entertain as an option for fantasy is Golden Tate, and even if he’ll produce little to nothing this week. The Patriots have yet to allow a receiving touchdown to receivers, and is holding receivers to a sub 50 catch percentage. Bill Belichick and New England will impose their will on a weakened Giants team.
Prediction: Nobody worth starting
