Wrestlemania 34 Predictions

Tomorrow marks the 34th edition of sports entertainment’s greatest spectacle, Wrestlemania.

A lot of questions remain going into the show, will The Undertaker show up to the place of his first loss at Wrestlemania 30 to fight John Cena? Will the conqueror of the streak, Brock Lesnar fight his final match of this installment of his WWE career and lose this WWE Universal Championship to Roman Reigns.

We all have our fair share of opinions on this year’s Wrestlemania, here are mine.

Women’s Battle Royal

Winner: Sasha Banks

Why?: She needs this push more than anything to get over as a heel, so it will be Sasha and Bailey as the final two, furthering their storyline as rivals. Two and a half months post first-ever women’s rumble, I am kind of curious as to what kind of NXT women and returns we might see on the Grandest Stage.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Why?: Of the superstars confirmed for the ARMBAR, Ziggler is the most in need of a direction. Since returning to the WWE at the Royal Rumble, Ziggler, who surrendered the U.S. Title upon his departure has had no direction save for a loss at Fastlane in a six-pack challenge for the WWE Title. Not that Mojo Rowley got a boast after winning last year, but Ziggler could use the boast.

Cruiserweight Title – Cedric Alexander vs. Mustafa Ali

Winner: Mustafa Ali

Why?: I am not much of a watcher of 205 Live, but turning Alexander heel after losing this match just makes the most sense.

Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

Winner: Owens and Zayn

Why?: It just makes sense. Where does Bryan go from beating Owens and Zayn in his comeback match? Not nearly as far as Bryan goes with a loss. This will 100% end with either Shane taking the pin or turning on Bryan and helping KO and Zayn win.

Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey vs. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon

Winner: Angle and Rousey

Why?: There is a zero-percent chance the WWE brings Rousey in just to lose to Triple H and Stephanie at Mania. Even as a Triple H fan, I just can’t see it happening. My biggest hope in this matchup is that no one gets hurt on a botch by Rousey or Stephanie.

Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship -
The Usos (c) vs. The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers

Winners: Bludgeon Brothers

Why?: As much as I am not a huge fan of The Usos I hate seeing their Wrestlemania Moment result in a squash match, but at this point, how can you not put the belts on Rowan and Harper. I think the Usos end up on Raw in the next few weeks and The New Day is due for a split, even if it’s just temporary.

Raw Tag Team Championship – The Bar (c) vs. Braun Strowman and TBD

Winners: Braun Strowman and TBD

Why?: Braun is 100-percent the most dominant superstar on Raw and should be in the Universal Title hunt, but low and behold, he is stuck here. My head says his partner is going to be some sort of hypnotized Bray Wyatt and my heart says it will be Elias.

Smackdown Women’s Title – Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka

Winner: Carmella

Why?: Yeah, Carmella cashes in her Money in the Bank briefcase and ends Asuka’s undefeated streak and we are all angry. I’m angry just typing this and I’m not big into this Asuka storyline like most.

Raw Women’s Title – Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax

Winner: Alexa Bliss

Why?: Whether it is with Mickie James help or getting disqualified, Bliss will find a way to escape this uneven matchup with her belt. That does not mean that Jax will not leave Monday Night Raw with the title belt, I just don’t see it happening at Mania.

U.S. Title – Randy Orton vs. Bobby Roode vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Rusev

Winner: Rusev

Why?: Rumor has it Rusev asked for his release a few weeks ago and being put in the match was their way of trying to make amends. I think it will go further and end up with the strap once again. Coincidently Wrestlemania falls on Rusev Day.

Intercontinental Title – The Miz (c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor

Winner: The Miz

Why?: Seth Rollins is headed to Smackdown, Finn Balor is headed to the Universal Title picture, so it makes sense for The Miz to win this match. Additionally, The Miz may be the best heel in the business. As a big Seth Rollins fan (he’s from my hometown), I cannot wait for this match.

WWE Title – AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

Why?: This is one of the few matches I just don’t have much of a feel for. I feel like its Nakamura’s chance to get a run at the title. At the same time, I am not sure AJ’s time with the belt is over. As a non-New Japan fan, this is my first go around for this rivalry, but I am quite excited for this one as well.

Universal Title – Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

Winner: Roman Reigns

Why?: Lesnar is so far gone from the WWE, so Reigns will win this one, hopefully in a short one. One of my friends pitched the idea of a Sheamus-Daniel Bryan call back where Reigns hits a Superman Punch and Spear and it is over and we can go on with the show.

The Undertaker vs. John Cena

Winner: The Undertaker

Why?: This is how you send John Cena out, for now, you give Undertaker one last big win on the biggest stage. At some point, you let Cena come back to pass the torch, which he has done many times already, but let him go be an actor and let’s give The Deadman, possibly the greatest performer of all time his on last hurrah.
