NBA DFS: Six Under $6K for February 2nd

Associated Press

There are studs you’ll want to pay up for, for tonight’s NBA DFS games. Today, I’ll recommend some value plays to help create some salary space.

We also have a DFS account on Twitter, so be sure to give it a follow!

Tim Hardaway Jr. (NYK @ MIL)

FanDuel: $5,600 (SG)

DraftKings: $5,900 (SG/SF)

Hardaway was on a minutes limit, and his price has dipped as a result. The Knicks are back on the road again, this time in Milwaukee. Eric Bledsoe missed a game with a sore ankle, so whether he sits out, or plays injured, it could give the Knicks a little advantage. Hardaway scores 0.89 FD points/min, and 0.91 on DK, which makes him a fine play on either site, but more favorable on FD because of the lower salary there.

Quincy Acy (BKN vs. LAL)

FanDuel: $3,900 (PF)

DraftKings: $3,700 (PF/C)

Acy will most likely get the start again, as Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has been ruled out for tonight’s game. If you’re looking to punt the position, Acy is usually good for making 5x value. While he doesn’t have tremendous upside, it allows you to pay up at other positions to make up for it. Both, the Nets and Lakers have poor offensive ratings, and turnover percentages. Acy himself, doesn’t turnover the ball a lot, and hopefully he can get a couple of steals on the Lakers.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (LAL @ BKN)

FanDuel: $5,200 (SG)

DraftKings: $5,100 (SG)

While we’re on this game, KCP is another player to target for some value. A drop in his price on both sites provides better value, as his game logs don’t get you excited. He’s capable of having big games, but it’s dependent on his raw scoring. Fingers crossed, on KCP’s shot falling tonight.

Serge Ibaka (TOR vs. POR)

FanDuel: $5,800 (PF)

DraftKings: $5,500 (PF/C)

Ibaka may be one of the more tilting players for NBA DFS. You like his price, but there are times when he severely underperforms. He’s been making good value in a few recent games, but there’s a little bit of a price increase. While the Raptors are the favorites by -4, the Blazers will surely come out to play. Whether it’s for cash or GPP lineups, I say – take the chance. There is value elsewhere, and your studs should go about their normal business.

Josh Jackson (PHO vs. UTA)

FanDuel: $5,300 (SF)

DraftKings: $5,200 (SG/SF)

Admittedly, I don’t know much about Jackson. The Suns are trying to find starting rotating that works, and Jackson might just be what they need. The Suns are playing the Jazz tonight, which is not ideal. Couple that with Jackson’s salary increase and many will probably back away from rostering him tonight. Rebounds are the difference in him having a good game, and a great game. The Jazz are 25th in the NBA in terms of offensive rebound percentage, with 20%. Jackson can build upon this if he can stick around the paint on the Jazz’s side of the court.

Malcolm Delaney (ATL @ BOS)

FanDuel: $4,000 (PG)

DraftKings: $3,600 (PG/SG)

Delaney is only a play if Dennis Schroder is ruled out. Schroder is currently set to play, but you never know. Crazy happens all the time…as I’m writing this: Kyrie Irving, and Shane Larkin have been ruled out, in addition to Marcus Morris. If Schroder isn’t 100% healthy, would it be crazy to think that he’ll sit this one out? Anyway, Delaney sees the second-most minutes when Schroder is off the court, at 590 minutes (Marco Belinelli sees 593). Aside from the usual starters, Delaney is second, behind Tyler Dorsey in usage.

Thank you for reading, and good luck with your picks!
