NBA DFS: Targets for 1/10

Kyle Terada - USA TODAY Sports

It’s an 11-game slate for our NBA DFS games tonight. As I mentioned in my last article, you may want to keep an eye on teams with back-to-backs. There are five teams on B2Bs tonight: Heat, Trail Blazers, Magic, Thunder, and Mavericks. The first three teams are road-to-road B2Bs.

We also have a DFS account on Twitter, so be sure to give it a follow!

The targets:

Tyreke Evans (MEM vs. NO)

FanDuel: $8,300 (SG)/DraftKings: $8,300 (PG/SG)

There are a lot of studs to pay up for, but Evans is a target you’ll want to have some exposure to in your lineups. He doesn’t have that “wow” factor, so many will overlook him and want to pay more for someone else. Or they may get too “cute” and pay down for someone who doesn’t even pay off their price. Whatever the case, Evans is able to make good value if he gets at least 30 minutes on the court. In his last 11 games, he’s scored at least 20 points in 9 of them. In the games where he’s making good value, Evans is getting an extra fantasy-point boost with better numbers in rebounds and assists than his averages.

Malcolm Brogdon (MIL vs. ORL)

FanDuel: $5,600 (SG)/DraftKings: $5,000 (PG/SG)

Brogdon got the start in the last two games, and should get the start tonight (keep close tabs on lineup announcements). As a starter, his price did rise to above $6,000 on FD. We’ll want to take advantage of his price break while Brogdon’s getting the starts. Even when he doesn’t get the start, he’s still a fine play off the bench, and gets about 30 minutes on the court. It’s the second game of road-to-road, B2B for the Magic. Even though this game is projected to have one of the larger spreads of the night, the Magic are able to hold their own. The Bucks did spread the minutes around in their loss to the Pacers, but we shouldn’t see the same in this time around.

Taurean Prince (ATL @ DEN)

FanDuel: $5,800 (SF)/DraftKings: $5,500 (SG/SF)

Price is a GPP play for me. It’s not always easy going in to Denver, especially after the game against the Clippers where a comeback win was just out of reach. This should be one of the higher scoring games of the evening, and you’ll want some kind of exposure to it. Prince had a strong game against the Clippers, especially with the four 3-pointers made, and his dislocated finger doesn’t seem to be an issue. This is the last game of their 5-game road trip, but Prince should still see at least 30 minutes on the floor in this game.

Domantas Sabonis (IND vs. MIA)

FanDuel: $5,900 (PF)/DraftKings: $6,400 (PF/C)

With Myles Turner ruled OUT, Sabonis should get the start and looks to be a popular play tonight. His price is a bit steep on DK, but we can make it work. Sabonis has been a really good play, even off the bench. Getting the start would only add value to him. Playing opposite of him will be Hassan Whiteside. Whiteside had been dealing with a knee issue, and has certainly not been the player we’re used to seeing since returning from the injury. While Whiteside is a fine play, Sabonis can definitely take advantage of Whiteside’s downturn and come out with a big game tonight.

Other targets to consider:

Victor Oladipo (IND vs. MIA)

FanDuel: $9,600 (SG)/DraftKings: $8,800 (PG/SG) – on DK

Jarrett Jack (NYK vs. CHI)

FanDuel: $4,500 (PG)/DraftKings: $4,300 (PG) – on both sites

Mason Plumlee (DEN vs. ATL)

FanDuel: $4,800 (C)/DraftKings: $4,500 (PF/C) – on both sites

Enes Kanter (NYK @ CHI)

FanDuel: $5,400 (C)/DraftKings: $6,200 (PF/C) – on FD

Thank you for reading, and good luck with your picks!
