Week 9 Defense streaming

After a couple weeks off I am back to bring you your week 9 defense streaming. My hiatus has been caused by the arrival of my first child sending my life into a whirlwind beyond anything I could ever have prepared for but at the same time the greatest and most enjoyable couple of weeks of my life. Anyway while I have been away we have seen plenty of defensive masterpieces that have swung fantasy weeks but we have also seen plenty of fantasy owners scrambling to make up for the seemingly never ending parade of bye weeks. This week is going to be a slightly reduced version of what I was previously doing and will only focus on this week before getting back to looking at the upcoming weeks and maybe even the fantasy playoffs next week.

This week we once again have 6 teams on a bye and they are:

Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Chargers and Cleveland Browns.

Starts for Week 9

(Only teams less than 60% owned)

Detroit Lions (53%) @ Green Bay Packers

The Packers and Brett Hundley haven’t exactly inspired confidence so far and while I think the bye week will make it better I still expect the Lions defense to have a pretty good day against the young QB.

New Orleans Saints (41%) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Saints defense has really taken off lately and the Buccaneers do not look good right now. We always have a few Saints being bizarre games a year and there is every chance this could be it but I really think this defense could be a good play this week.

San Francisco 49ers (4%) vs Arizona Cardinals

The 49ers D has been pretty awful this season in terms of fantasy points but facing Drew Stanton should be a remedy for success.

Oakland Raiders (30%) @ Miami Dolphins

Another defense that hasn’t been good this season but gets an offense in a mess. Given the state of the Dolphins O-line I expect the Raiders defense to have a good week this week.

Sits for week 9

Kansas City Chiefs (91%) @ Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have began to click in the last couple of weeks and after watching the Chiefs defense splutter against the Raiders offense the other week this could be an extremely high scoring game in Dallas.

Don’t get spooked from:

Denver Broncos (83%) @ Philadelphia Eagles

While the Eagles have been really good this season their offensive line is struggling to protect in the last few weeks and the Broncos defense is due a good week.
