Fantasy Football: Week 8 Waiver Wire

Packers RB Aaron Jones

It’s time to attack the Week 8 Waiver Wire as bye weeks and injuries are dismantling fantasy football teams. There is talent at all positions this week to help you get into the fantasy playoffs. Who should you target this week?

Aaron Jones | RB | Green Bay Packers

I don’t typically include players this highly owned but Aaron Jones should be owned everywhere. Even in a game with the offense down QB Aaron Rodgers and not looking great, Jones was a monster. He had 131 yards and a TD against New Orleans. This was the third time in four weeks that he has found the end zone. Jones is the RB to own in Green Bay and should be 100% owned. Add him if you can.

Dion Lewis | RB | New England Patriots
29% Owned on Yahoo!

Do we have any clue what Bill Belichick is thinking when it comes to his running backs? No chance, but Dion Lewis is seemingly taking over the lead back role in this offense. He had 76 yards on 13 carries against the Falcons. He also caught his only target for six yards. Each of the past four weeks, Lewis has seen his carries rise. Mike Gillislee has seen his workload diminish over the past three weeks. If you need RB help, add Lewis this week.

Saints Ted Ginn Jr

Ted Ginn Jr. | WR | New Orleans Saints
51% Owned on Yahoo!

Ted Ginn had 141 yards this week on 7 catches. This on the heels of 66 yards and score the week prior. Willie Snead has been a non-factor since returning from suspension and has been dealing with injuries. QB Drew Brees is going to keep looking Ginns way if he continues to perform. With games coming against Chicago and Tampa Bay, look for Ginn to produce for his fantasy owners. Add him if he is available in your league.

Kenny Stills | WR | Miami Dolphins
20% Owned on Yahoo!

Kenny Stills has started to become a difference maker over the past two weeks for the Miami Dolphins. He has been targeted an impressive 15 times over that span with DeVante Parker out. He had 5 targets the two weeks prior. This week Jay Cutler was injured and was replaced by Matt Moore. Stills scored two TDs when Matt Moore came into the game. Moore should see more action as Cutler is expected to miss multiple weeks. Stills can help WR needy teams this week and beyond.

Jonnu Smith | TE | Tennessee Titans
1% Owned on Yahoo!

This might be a wait a week claim but if you have room or need a TE in the coming weeks. Delanie Walker got hurt against the Browns on Sunday. Walker was seen on crutches after the game. The Titans are on bye this week so you can’t use him this week but going forward he can be useful. If you have the room and want to sneak him on your roster, this is the week to do it. You can also wait for waivers to run and then add him.
