Week 6 QB Streamers

Jets Josh McCown

Looking for a Week 6 QB Streamer for your fantasy football team? I have four names that can help you win this week. Are they sexy names that you’ll feel great about using? No chance. That said, the potential is there with all of them to be successful and produce for us fantasy owners.

With Russell Wilson, Dak Prescott, Andy Dalton and Tyrod Taylor all on bye, there is a good chance that desperate times call for desperate measures. There is also a chance that Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota miss another week. Who should you look toward this week if you are in need?

Josh McCown vs New England Patriots
6% Owned on Yahoo!

Josh McCown is one of the best streaming options in Week 6. That sure is a sentence I never expected to type but it’s true. This is a home game for the Jets, something that should help McCown. He faces a Patriots defense that has been horrendous against the pass. The are allowing the most fantasy points to opposing QBs. All 5 QBs to face New England have thrown for 300 plus yards and at least 1 TD. Four of those Qbs have thrown two or more. Look for McCown to thrive this week!

Carson Palmer vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
67% Owned on Yahoo!

Nobody ever feels awesome about starting Carson Palmer especially if you plan on watching the game. Welcome to Tilt City, population you. He is averaging 314.6 yards per game and has a TD in every game he has played. At home, Palmer has averaged 341 yards and 1.5 TDs.

This week at home, Palmer gets to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that is allowing 19.7 fantasy points to opposing QBs. He should have a chance at home to put up another 300 yard performance and should find the endzone at least once. Don’t worry about Adrian Peterson killing Palmer’s value. He should still throw a ton this week.

Jacoby Brissett at Tennessee Titans
15% Owned on Yahoo!

This is a great opportunity for Jacoby Brissett and the Colts passing game this week. They are facing a Tennessee Titans team that is allowing 20.4 fantasy points to opposing QBs. That is the 3rd worst in the NFL, especially impressive with Jay Cutler and Blake Bortles laying stinkers and bringing that average down.

Brissett has been able to take advantage of bad defenses this season. He threw for over 300 yards last week and found the end zone via the rush. Against the Browns Brissett he scored three total TDs. Having the ability to find the end zone via his legs provides more opportunity to score fantasy points. Averaging over 20 rushing yards per game helps add a safer floor.

He makes for a great option if you own Marcus Mariota and want to use him. With the Titans playing Monday night, Brissett can let you be patient.

Kevin Hogan at Houston Texans
2% Owned on Yahoo!

The Browns turned to Kevin Hogan a week ago in an effort to provide a boost to their offense. He went 16/19 for 194 yards and 2 TDs. He also added 30 yards on the ground on 4 attempts. Coach Hue Jackson has named Hogan the starter heading into Week 6.

He will get to face a Texans defense that allowed the 9th most fantasy points to opposing QBs and will be without both J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus. Deshaun Watson and the Texans offense shouldn’t have issues scoring against the Browns. That will force Hogan to throw the ball to keep up. He should also have nice rush lanes to utilize with the defense hanging back to stop the pass. While he isn’t my favorite streamer this week, there is upside to be had. Roll Hogan out in deep leagues or 2QB formats.
