Fantasy Football: Week 4 QB Streamers

AZ Cardinals Carson Palmer

Welcome to Week 4 QB Streamers where we target some options that won’t make you feel safe by any means but have a ton of potential. Week 3 was a streamers dream with names like Case Keenum, Blake Bortles, Brian Hoyer and more finding homes in the Top 12 at the position.

Deshone Kizer, my deep play a week ago, found a way into that top 12 as well thanks to a late score. Garbage points count the same. Also in Week 3 Andy Dalton was fine and Trevor Siemian was bad. Although I like Siemian to bounce back this week in a home game against a Raiders defense that was torched by Kirk Cousins and the Redskins.

These are four options that can help you in fantasy football Week 4. I would play them all over Cam Newton, who is outright droppable. I would also use the streamers over Ben Roethlisberger and Derek Carr who are on the road facing tough defenses.

Carson Palmer vs San Francisco 49ers

The Arizona Cardinals offense looked competent in their monday night tilt against the Dallas Cowboys. QB Carson Palmer threw for 325 yards and 2 TDs despite not having John Brown and JJ Nelson going MIA. This week they are home again, welcoming the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers were lit up at home by Jared Goff who threw for 292 yards and 3 TDs. With the Niners traveling to the dessert, Palmer has a tremendous opportunity to feast again. JJ Nelson should be healthier and can be more involved this week, that should only help Palmer flourish.

Andy Dalton at Cleveland Browns

The Bengals Andy Dalton finally rewarded those who stuck with him after two weeks of train wreck play. While he could have played better he still threw for 212 yards and two TDs. The offense as a whole looked better as Bill Lazor got the team on track. Joe Mixon is the feature RB and should provide nice balance going forward.

While Cincinnati heads on the road again this week, they face a Browns team that can be had. I expect Dalton to play well. At home, the Browns offense should be decent and not let the Bengals sit on the ball all game long. If you want a QB with upside and a relatively safe floor, Dalton should be your guy.

Eli Manning at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Giants offense got some things worked out a week ago against the Philadelphia Eagles. QB Eli Manning realized that he needs to make quicker decisions to have any shot at completing a pass. Per Pro Football Focus, Eli got rid of the ball 1.86 seconds on average after getting the snap. This is a staggering forty seconds faster than any other QB.

This week the Giants are on the road to face a Tampa Bay defense that allowed Case Keenum to throw for 369 yards and 3 TDs. The Buccaneers defense is severely depleted losing Noah Spence, Lavonte David, Gerald McCoy in the game. They also were without Brent Grime and Kwon Alexander. There is a good chance, that most if not all of these guys will be out against the Giants.

Manning should have time to find his weapons including Odell Beckham who looked much better against the Eagles. Eli could be a really nice option in Week 4.

Jay Cutler vs New Orleans Saints
38% Owned Yahoo!

This one is going to take some trust, faith and hope. I know how bad Jay Cutler looked a week ago, I watched the entire game. However, this is a great bounce back opportunity for the Dolphins offense as a whole. The game being in London throws a bit of wrinkle into things but if Blake Bortles can flourish there, so can Jay Cutler.

The Saints are allowing 311 yards per game to opposing passers, which is third worst in the NFL. They played better a week ago against Cam Newton who is a mess and was down his top two pass catchers and center early in that game.

Cutler has dynamic weapons in DeVante Parker and Jarvis Landry who should be able to light up the New Orleans secondary. This game has the highest over/under of the week and a ton of points are expected to be scored. Ride with Cutler.

Good luck to all your fantasy teams in Week 4. If you have a QB streamer you like that I didn’t mention let me know on twitter.
