2017 IDP Rookie Positional Rankings

Reddick

Well folks, the 2017 NFL Draft has come and gone and now its time to prep for our rookie drafts and/or league drafts whether it’s a startup or FA draft.  I have completed the rookie Linebackers rankings first and as I complete the DL & DB’s they’ll get added to this page followed by an overall ranking for the Rookie IDP’s so stay tuned.

Some thoughts on the linebacker class:  there’s a bunch of good depth here; a few LB’s worth drafting in re-draft and a handful worth grabbing early on in your rookie drafts (by early on I mean somewhere in the mid-2nd); while the rest we’ll see splashes here and there but may not get full impact until ’18 with some contract situations that need to be taken care of.  In other words; the class is top heavy with a few sleepers in between followed by stashes.  Take a look:

Why do you have Jarred Davis as the 6th ranked LB ? He is usually the 1st or 2nd LB off the board in rookie drafts and expected to start from day 1 and you list another Det rookie LB who was a 4th round pick in the NFL draft ahead of him in the rookie rankings ? Unless you know something the rest of the world don’t know this is the most crazy ranking of a defensive rookie this year I have seen by anyone.

i don’t care about his draft pedigree and what not, just not a fan (can he prove me wrong, sure) but I’d rather have the LB’s i’ve listed above him. Jalen Reeves-Maybin is a much better LB than Jarrad IMO, not sure what rookie drafts you’ve been doing but Cunningham and Foster or Reddick have been the top 2 taken all the time. What round a player gets drafted in doesnt really matter if they perform their ass off in training camp (See: Kwon Alexander) for example.

Having Jarrad ranked at 6 is crazy, then well – you may not like the rest of my rankings then. I do my own I don’t follow any other sites or play copycat, but you can go ahead and draft Jarrad.

    Hey Bee,

you are by far my favorite source of information on IDP precisely because you make up your own mind. Have some hits and misses as everybody, but your hits usually come extremely cheap, because they are not on anybody’s radar yet.

So, who is your Kwon for 2017? Who are your favorite dark horses in general?

Thanx for all the time you put in. Much appreciated!

    Chris
