It’s a 14-game MLB DFS slate, with the Cubs having a day game. There are a couple of aces taking the mound, and many of tonight’s games are projected to be close ones!

Pitchers:

Stephen Strasburg (WAS @ OAK)

Moneyline: -142

Over/Under: 7.5

FanDuel: $11,200/DraftKings: $12,000

Strasburg has put together two solid starts, back-to-back. Granted, they were against the Braves and Padres, tonight’s matchup is against the A’s in Oakland. Pitcher’s park, pitcher’s don’t need to hit in this Interleague game, we can project another stellar start for Strasburg. The A’s are creeping up the K% leaderboards, as they are striking out at a rate of 25.3%, which is the second highest in MLB. We could see Strasburg have another double-digit K start.

Michael Fulmer (DET vs. CWS)

Moneyline: -190

Over/Under: 9

FanDuel: $9,600/DraftKings: $8,000

Fulmer has been quietly impressive this season and not many are talking about him. All of his starts this season have been quality starts. If you play on FD, that’s huge for the QS points, especially since there are times when he doesn’t get many strikeouts. Fulmer hasn’t given up a homerun in five starts, and has been keeping walks to a comfortable minimum. The White Sox, as I’ve mentioned time and time again, are not good offensively and tonight should be business as usual for Fulmer.

Hitters:

Brandon Belt (SF @ PHI)

FanDuel: $3,400 (1B)/DraftKings: $4,000 (1B/OF)

The most homeruns Belt has hit in a season was 18, in 2015. He has 10 so far this season, and we can consider him as a target because of his price and matchup. With this game being away from AT&T Park, it’s already an advantage for Giants’ hitters. He’ll have the platoon tonight against Phillies RHP, Jerad Eickhoff. Lefty bats is what you want against Eickhoff. For the season, Eickhoff against them have an OBP of .358, slugging .496, 1.64 HR/9, and walking at a rate of 10.1%. Belt and other lefty bats can be targeted against Eickhoff and the Phillies tonight.

Josh Donaldson (TOR vs. NYY)

FanDuel: $4,000 (3B)/DraftKings: $4,600 (3B)

Donaldson is finally back from the DL and (hopefully) healthy. The Blue Jays are at home tonight and facing Michael Pineda. His numbers have been pretty steady, but there’s always potential for that one bad inning for Pineda. I like Donaldson tonight for the potential of him taking advantage of a Pineda mistake. Don’t be worried about Donaldson not having the platoon because his splits are fine against pitchers of the same handedness.

Corey Seager (LAD @ MIL)

FanDuel: $3,500 (SS)/DraftKings: $4,300 (SS)

Seager may not be very appealing but I think there’s potential here, especially for his price on FD. He hasn’t hit a homerun since May 20th, due to a combination of tough matchups and bad hitter’s parks. That could change tonight in Milwaukee, against Jimmy Nelson. Even if the homerun doesn’t happen, Seager rarely goes hitless, but even when he does, he’ll still get fantasy points from walks and runs.

Michael Conforto (NYM vs. PIT)

FanDuel: $4,200 (OF)/DraftKings: $4,700 (OF)

This is the Conforto that I was hoping for last season. He’s been leading off, and has been productive. The Mets are facing Gerrit Cole, who has struggled in his last a couple of starts, which his most previous start being against the Mets. I like this game better for Conforto since it’s at home at Citi Field. For his career (small sample size) against right-handed pitchers, Conforto has a slugging percentage of .523, .878 OPS, and .254 ISO. If Cole struggles again, Conforto could have a nice night.

J.D. Martinez (DET vs. CWS)

FanDuel: $4,100 (OF)/DraftKings: $5,000 (OF)

Martinez has put up pretty good numbers since coming off the DL. He’s injury prone, so I like to take advantage of him while he’s healthy and in good spots. His price is high on both sites, but this matchup against Derek Holland could definitely be worth it. Homeruns and walks have been a problem for Holland, and gave up a homerun and four walks in his last start against the Tigers. With the Tigers facing him again tonight, I think they’ll have a little more success.
Thank you for reading, and good luck with your picks!
