5 Under Par – Daily Fantasy Golf – Travelers Championship

download

We had another first time Major winner last week as Jimmy Walker pulled down the PGA Championship. We don’t get any Major action this week, but there is some great golf action being played at the Travelers Championship. A lot of the big name guys will sit this one out, but we should still see some great golf. Make sure to checkout DraftKings and hop in some contest this week.

We stay in the northeast this week at Cromwell, CT. Golfers will tackle the TPC River Highlands course. The course plays at 6,844 yards and a Par 70. Last years winner, Bubba Watson, returns to defend his championship. To make the 5 Under picks this week I used the following metrics: Strokes Gained: Tee to Green, Strokes Gained: Putting, Greens in Regulation, Driving Accuracy, Birdie Average and Scrambling.

The weather forecast doesn’t look that bad. There is a chance for rain on Saturday, but mainly the weekend will be overcast and hot. This article and my picks are being brought to you by Tour Golf Revolution, the site that let’s you “Reinvent League Golf.”

1. Bubba Watson – Can’t pick against the defending champ this week. He also won in 2010 and hasn’t missed a cut here since 2006. I’ll definitely take those odds.

2. Matt Kuchar – Consistency is the key and Kuch has found his consistency again. He is the highest ranking player from a statistics standpoint this week, but also hasn’t missed a cut at the Travelers since 2004.

3. Branden Grace -  Grace was cut during his last outing at the Travelers. However, his T4 finish at the PGA makes him a viable play this week and puts him in a good spot to contend.

4. Patrick Reed – Reed has posted a top 15 in his last 3 tournaments including the PGA Championship. His stats at the Travelers aren’t insanely impressive, but he has the length to dominate this course.

5. Zach Johnson – ZJ just gives off that Kuchar vibe for me. He has been relatively consistent and finished T33rd at the PGA. He has the game to score low and contend for win.

Other Notables*

Par – Webb Simpson

Bogey – Jon Rahm

Double Bogey – J.B Holmes

* I usually use the last 5 years of course/tournament data in my research
