One Loose Lug Nut – Daily Fantasy NASCAR – Quaker State 400
Quaker State 400
After last weeks fantasy debacle, we arrive at Kentucky this week. The Bruton Smith 1.5 mile oval, has been a staple since the early 2000s. It also takes the claim for being the hardest track to leave the parking lot after a race. Last years winner, Kyle Busch will look to sweep the week and take down another victory this year. Qualifying was rained out, so the starting grid is based on the rule book/owners points. This week I will provide 5 top end daily fantasy NASCAR plays and 5 value plays. One Loose Lug Nut is presented by UTV Family. Check them out at utvfamily.com or on twitter @utvfamily they are giving away a 2016 Polaris Rzr Turbo. For every $5 spent at their website you’ll get entered into the raffle to win!
Draftkings has a $80K NASCAR FireCracker contest this week. Click Here and make your picks. First Place wins $10K and bragging rights for a year.
Daily Fantasy NASCAR Picks
Top End Picks
1. Kyle Busch
This is the land of Kyle Busch (who is trying to sweep the weekend). Busch boasts the highest driver rating at Kentucky with a 129.1. He will start in the 6th spot, which gives him some room to bring down some place differential points on his way to victory tonight. He has 2 wins here in the Sprint series and will look for the trifecta tonight.
2. Brad Keselowski
Another guy that has found victory lane twice at Kentucky is BK. Brad has a driver rating of 117.8 and has led over 400 laps. He starts in the 2nd spot and could find his way in front of Harvick pretty quickly. If you are looking for dominator points other than Harvick, BK is the guy.
3. Jimmie Johnson
Johnson should be going to a back up, but won’t lose his starting position. He will roll off in the 9th spot and could easily work his way up to a top 5. Johnson has a driver rating of 111 and has frequented the top 10 at Kentucky. He has been overlooked by fantasy guys this year due to his lack of dominator points. I won’t be overlooking him today.
4. Kevin Harvick
This isn’t one of Harvick’s favorite tracks, but he is starting 1st. Whenever Harvick is on the pole he has to be in consideration. He can definitely dominate this race and this track if he can hold off Kyle and BK.
5. Matt Kenseth
I think that Matt is another guy that could fly under the radar. Kenseth has a win here and a driver rating of 106.7. He starts in the 11th spot, but like Johnson could easily work his way up into the top 5.
1. Kyle Larson
I love where Larson starts because I definitely feel like he can return top 10 value. Larson has been on fire this season and has regular top 15s. I think he will get one tonight.
2. Trevor Bayne
Bayne will probably be a popular play due to his 3rd place finish at Daytona. Like Larson he has had a very successful season. He will roll off in the 17th spot and could return value if he skirts into the top 15.
3. Ryan Newman
Newman is a true sleeper. I don’t like where he starts (14th) but I am sure he can return value if he keeps it in the road. I will have a lot of exposure to Newman and the next guy.
4. Clint Bowyer
Bowyer starting 25th, sign me up. The guy can easily break the top 20 and has run 53% of Kentucky laps in the top 15.
5. Tony Stewart
NASCAR will ride their feel good stories off into the sunset. Stewart has been great over the past couple of weeks and needs points to make the Chase. I think he will have another strong performance tonight all stats aside.
