MLB DFS: Targets for 6/6

It’s a nice sized 10-game MLB DFS slate with lots of hitting options, but not much pitching to choose from. There’s a new 60 Feet, 6 Inches podcast up so be sure to check that out!
Pitchers
Jon Lester (CHC @ PHI)
Moneyline: -260
Over/Under: 8
FanDuel: $11,100/DraftKings: $11,600
Lester is the heaviest favorite tonight and will be pitching against a Phillies team that struggles to score runs. They are second to last in the league in home runs, runs scored, RBIs, and wOBA.
Michael Fulmer (DET vs. TOR)
Moneyline: -120
Over/Under: 9
FanDuel: $8,000/DraftKings: $9,900
Fulmer has pitched at least seven innings in his last three starts and can have success with striking out right-handed Blue Jays batters. His price has really jumped up on DraftKings, so he’s more of a tournament play with the high run total.
Other pitchers to consider: Masahiro Tanaka (NYY vs. LAA), and Christian Friedrich (SD vs. ATL).
Catchers
Yan Gomes (CLE @ SEA)
FanDuel: $2,700/DraftKings: $2,500
The hitting environment isn’t ideal at Safeco Park, but Gomes and the Indians are facing James Paxton, who had a rough go of it in his last start. Gomes has the platoon here and that’s what we want when rostering him. The Indians have the bats to score fantasy points, and they could be a sneaky stack.
Curt Casali (TB @ ARI)
FanDuel: $2,400/DraftKings: $3,000
For a positive ball park shift, Casali at Chase Field can be a part of a Rays stack against southpaw, Robbie Ray. With the pitcher having to hit in this game, keep an eye out on where Casali is batting in the order if he gets the start. Ray struggles at home against right-handed bats, and for his career he’s allowing a slugging percentage .551, .403 wOBA, 4.71 BB/9, and 1.53 HR/9.
Other catchers to consider: James McCann (DET vs. TOR), and Matt Wieters (BAL vs. KC).
First base
Adrian Gonzalez (LAD vs. COL)
FanDuel: $2,900/DraftKings: $3,300
Gonzalez has the platoon against Rockies pitcher, Tyler Chatwood. With the platoon for his career, Gonzalez has an ISO of .226, .524 slugging percentage, and .374 wOBA. Chatwood has pitched well at times this season, but the Dodgers offense has been dialed in from the series this weekend against the Braves.
Dae-ho Lee (SEA vs. CLE)
FanDuel: $2,900/DraftKings: $2,800
First base may not be a position to pay up for, and Lee makes for an interesting GPP option tonight. He has shown power against pitchers of both handedness and opposing pitcher, Trevor Bauer, is prone to giving up the long ball.
Other first basemen to consider: Mike Napoli (CLE @ SEA), and Miguel Cabrera (DET vs. TOR).
Second base
Robinson Cano (SEA vs. CLE)
FanDuel: $4,000/DraftKings: $4,900
Cano is another Mariner’s bat that I like tonight and can be used in cash games. For the season against right-handed pitchers, Cano has a .350 ISO, 1.053 OPS, .672 slugging percentage, and .439 wOBA. He’s the type of hitter that doesn’t need home runs to score fantasy points.
Rougned Odor (TEX vs. HOU)
FanDuel: $2,900/DraftKings: $4,100
Odor is much cheaper on FanDuel and can be a target for salary relief. Mike Fiers will be starting for the Astros and the Rangers are a team that can load their lineup with left-handed bats and could be a popular stack.
Other second basemen to consider: Ben Zobrist (CHC @ PHI), Starlin Castro (NYY vs. LAA), and Jurickson Profar (TEX vs. HOU).
Third base
Evan Longoria (TB @ ARI)
FanDuel: $3,800/DraftKings: $5,100
Longoria against a lefty is all the explanation you need.
Kris Bryant (CHC @ PHI)
FanDuel: $3,900/DraftKings: $5,300 (outfield eligible)
Third base is a position to look to spend up on depending on how you’re constructing your lineup, and the multi-positional eligibility on DraftKings is nice because of the option of rostering Bryant in the outfield. You can play both Longoria and Bryant if you can’t decide one over the other.
Other third basemen to consider: Jake Lamb (ARI vs. TB), Adonis Garcia (ATL @ SD), and Nick Castellanos (DET vs. TOR).
Shortstops
Corey Seager (LAD vs. COL)
FanDuel: $3,800/DraftKings: $4,200
If you believe in hot streaks, Seager is your man, with five home runs in three games. Yes, it was against the Braves, but Seager has the ability to do this against pitchers who makes mistakes, and Chatwood could be vulnerable tonight.
Wilmer Flores (NYM @ PIT)
FanDuel: $2,500/DraftKings: $3,900 (first and third base eligible)
Flores is a more appealing option at the shortstop position, especially if you need the salary relief. He has the platoon against Jon Niese, and is more appealing if he’s hitting more toward the middle of the order. PNC Park is a pitcher’s park, but Flores is a hitter who can get his fantasy points through extra base hits and RBIs if he’s batting in an ideal spot in the order.
Other shortstops to consider: Asdrubal Cabrera (NYM @ PIT), and Alcides Escobar (KC @ BAL).
Outfield
Mikie Mahtook (TB @ ARI)
FanDuel: $2,300/DraftKings: $3,200
The Rays stack will be popular, as mentioned, and Mahtook will be too with the platoon. He batted in the leadoff position yesterday, and that would be an extra bonus to rostering him if he gets the start. His upside lies in his power potential. Mahtook hasn’t spent much time in the majors but so far has an ISO of .329, .608 slugging percentage, .952 OPS, and .403 wOBA.
Nomar Mazara (TEX vs. HOU)
FanDuel: $3,000/DraftKings: $4,300
Mazara is shaping up to be an outfielder we can consider more frequently as time goes on. He’ll have the platoon against Fiers, which is what we want when rostering Mazara. Although Fiers looks to have reverse splits, he’s still not good against left-handed batters by giving up a slugging percentage of .385, 48.8% medium contract rate, and 30% hard contact rate.
Adam Jones (BAL vs. KC)
FanDuel: $3,400/DraftKings: $4,800
Jones has been hitting leadoff for almost two weeks now and we’ve seen more consistent fantasy numbers from him. The Royals are starting southpaw, Danny Duffy. Jones has the platoon and there is some momentum swinging his way in new spot in the batting order.
Other outfielders to consider: George Springer (HOU @ TEX), Carlos Beltran (NYY vs. LAA), Mark Trumbo (BAL vs. KC), Steve Pearce (TB @ ARI), Carlos Gonzalez (COL @ LAD), and Steven Souza (TB @ ARI).
