NBA DFS Playbook – 3/30
The NBA DFS Playbook season continues tonight Wednesday, March 30, 2016. A 9-game slate is upon us tonight as some premier superstars take the court. Target players opposing the Lakers, Pelicans and Kings. Best of luck tonight guys, lets go out and win.
**These prices/values come from DraftKings.com. However, all players mentioned are recommended picks regardless of DFS gaming platform.
Play of the Night: John Wall ($10,000)
As the Wizards come down to the wire with their playoff push, John Wall is being asked to do everything in his power to get the team in. With great power comes great responsibility, John. With all of this being said, I truly consider John a triple double threat tonight against the Sacramento Kings. The Kings are absolutely terrible at defending almost every position, so there is now doubt that John will be able to shoulder the load tonight. Lock him into your lineup. Do not worry about his price, there is plenty of opportunity to save salary at other positions.
Toney Douglas ($4,900) – With the Pelicans decimated due to injury, Douglas becomes a prime candidate to lead the team in scoring and a few other categories. At only 4,900 he seems like a lock to hit value. My major concern is the matchup he gets tonight. The Spurs are usually very tough on opposing backcourts, so temper your expectations.
Goran Dragic ($6,600) – Sometimes in DFS we do too much analyzing. This pick is simple. The Lakers have a bad defense, Tragic is playing well, and his price allows him to exceed values unlike the more expensive point guards on the slate. Do the right thing and get him in your lineup. He makes for a wonderful tourney play.
Dwyane Wade ($6,900) – D-Wade is a must play tonight. I’ll give you a few reasons why and try to convince you. Flash is coming off one of his best performances of the season against Brooklyn and has consistently seen 30+ minutes his last 10 games. The second reason is the matchup. The Lakers are one of the worst teams in the league in terms of points allowed to opposing guards, so take that information with a grain of salt. The most important reason you should lock D-Wade in your lineup is this will be his final meeting with Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. A trend this season is the premier players have really shown up against Kobe to give him one last competitive meeting between the two. Wade will one day be in the Hall of Fame as well, so this matchup will really mean something to him. He won’t be okay with scoring less than 25 tonight at Staples Center.
Bradley Beal ($5,400) – For the same reasons John Wall is a great play tonight, I gravitate towards Beal. He has a realistic chance at 20-5-5 tonight against the Kings. The Wizards will be giving it their all tonight, playing starters for majority of the game. At only 5,400 he seems like a reasonable play.
Lance Stephenson ($5,400) – Lance has so much potential each and every night. His salary is really attractive, especially if he can get his jumper going early. You’re looking at a guy who has triple-double potential, while being a prime candidate to underachieve value by 10 fantasy points. With this being said, make him a tournament play only. If you want a safer pick, his teammate Matt Barnes is priced for $100 less and makes a much better cash game play.
Luke Babbitt ($3,800) – Small Forward is not glamorous tonight, so if you are looking to save some salary, Babbitt will see a ton of minutes. I wouldn’t play him in any cash games, but with a tough matchup against San Antonio his ownership should be low enough to make him a worthy tournament play.
David Lee ($4,500) – Ride the David Lee train until you can. He has really produced in his short time as a Maverick. At 4,500 he seems like a very safe play to hit value in cash games.
LaMarcus Aldridge ($7,700) – At the end of the season, the Spurs have a tendency of sitting out their core group of aged veterans for multiple games at time to prepare for the playoffs. This has meant extreme usage and productivity for LA. Monitor the status of other Spurs tonight, as Aldridge could be in store to exceed his rising value once again.
Hassan Whiteside ($8,400) & Karl Towns ($8,400) – At the same price tonight on DraftKings, both players will easily be highly owned. Honestly, it’s a crap shoot. Whiteside has the better matchup against the Lakers, which will provide him with a much higher ceiling than Towns. However, Towns at 8,400 screams consistency. It is hard to imagine KAT getting your lineup less than 40 fantasy points tonight. I will probably lean with Towns, because I expect this to be a much closer game.
