NBA DFS Playbook 1.29

Westbrook

What a week it’s been in the NBA. The schedule makers blessed us with 5 solid nights, no tiny 4 game slates and great matchups across the board. Tonight we get another 9 game slate, with plenty of studs in play and enough value to get them into your lineup. Let’s run through it and end this NBA DFS week on a high note!

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook $10,800

This game is projected with a total of 222! That has to be the highest total this year where the Kings weren’t involved. Those point have to come from somewhere, and with Russell’s personal vendetta against Patrick Beverly, Look for Westbrook to take control early and often.

Damian Lillard $9,300

I suggest paying up at the point tonight, and if you can’t get to Westbrook, Lillard could easily match his production. The last time Lillard was snubbed from the all star game, he proceeded to come out with a huge night. Look for Damian to make a statement in a great matchup with Charlotte.

Shooting Guard

James Harden $10,000

The theme of the night centers on revenge games, with multiple players going up against their former teams. If I’m buying into that narrative, I’m taking the stud playing in the game with the highest total. Harden hasn’t been at his best in games traveling to OKC, but its important to note Roberson has been rules out for 3 weeks, meaning Harden may see most of his minute against the defenseless Dion Waiters. I suggest pairing Harden with one of OKC’s big 2, and watching the points rack up.

Jamal Crawford $4,200

The Clippers get the Lakers tonight and I expect this to get out of hand quick. With the Lakers remaining the worst team against guards, Crawford should easily exceed value in a matchup he’ll see heavy minutes.

Langston Galloway $4,000

If Jose Calderon remains out, Langston Galloway is one of my favorite plays against Phoenix. Galloway looked nice filling in last night, and we’ve seen him be a value DFS asset before. Stay glued to the injury wire and be ready to pivot in either direction.

Small Forward

Kevin Durant $10,100

Do you get the point yet? You can’t go wrong taking any of the studs in this game. I personally prefer Westbrook to Durant tonight, but I can understand picking Durant with the lack of depth at the small forward position.

Nicolas Batum $6,800

Another revenge game! Jeremy Lin has already been ruled out, and I don’t think Lamb makes it back from the nagging toe injury. That means Batum, who gets all of the minutes when he’s healthy, will have to help Kemba out a fair amount. This game should stay competitive, let’s stick with the revenge theme and buy into Batum.

Power Forward

Dirk Nowitzki $6,300

If Dirk plays tonight he has one of the most exploitable match ups on the board. Pair that with the recent rest/fresh legs and we find ourselves a great play. The Nets can’t defend anyone and I expect Dirk to put up his fair share of shots after missing a few nights.

Serge Ibaka $5,700

Ibaka still seems cheap coming in at only $5,700 and gets to play in the game everyone should be targeting. He also gets the best matchup you can ask for against the Rockets who rank dead last against the PF. Don’t be afraid to stack this game and pair Serge with one of the Thunder’s top options.

Center

Nikola Vucevic $7,600

Vuce is finally back to putting up solid numbers after hitting a little rough patch at the beginning of the month. The center position doesn’t offer many good matchups, but Vucevic should be able to get his usual double-double against a Celtics frontcourt that has played better defense this year, but is still far from elite.

Spencer Hawes $4,800

You’re going to need to find value somewhere tonight, and with the center position lacking, Hawes may be the best value play. We know we can expect 20-25 points from Hawes against a Portland team ranked 21st in Center DVP and at this price tag that should be enough.
