NBA DFS Playbook – 1/12
Welcome back to this Tuesday edition of the NBA DFS playbook. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and the BCS national championship game last night. With only three games on the books, it was hard for me to justify playing so I took the night off. Tonight though, I am jumping right back into things with eight games to look forward to. All my prices are according to DraftKings. Good luck!
Tyreke Evans ($8,100)
Reke isn’t exactly a sneaky play tonight, but he is a damn good one at that price. It would be even better for DFS if Anthony Davis sits out tonight, which his status is up in the air. Either way, playing anyone against the Lakers has been a staple of NBA DFS. I see no reason to stray from the path tonight.
Michael Carter-Williams ($7,500)
MCW is going to be one of my favorite plays of the night because everyone is going to be off of him. He burned people on Sunday so ownership is going to be down on him. Tonight he gets to go against a Bulls team that he dropped over 40 fantasy points a couple games ago. He’s my GPP play and sneaky cash play of the night.
Devin Booker ($4,900)
Booker has been a nice little gem lately. He’s been shooting like he Splash brother and making it rain. His salary has yet to catch up to his price, but he is going to be much higher owned that you would expect. I still like him as a GPP option.
Lou Williams ($6,400)
Most people will be looking to get Kobe Bryant in here, but I’m fading him for Sweet Lou. Williams has been balling his last two games, and gets a tasty matchup against the Pels. I have a lot of exposure to this game because I think it will be a close one between two bad teams. Williams is a nice GPP play tonight.
Paul George ($9,100)
Not much else at the position tonight and George is the cheapest of the studs. I trust him more than Carmelo Anthony at the same price and he’s had a nice streak of hitting at least 5x value in four of his last six games.
Tony Allen ($4,900)
Allen is offensively challenged and not someone I ever want in my lineup, but Courtney Lee and Mike Conley might be out tonight. Be sure to monitor that situation and if they are both out, then Allen is a must plug and play for that price.
Nance is another one of my GPP guys tonight. He’s been starting over Julius Randle and been getting a high volume of minutes. Anderson has been in a little slump, but nothing like playing the Lakers to get you out of that. These two instantly become must plays if Anthony Davis is out. I still like Nance if AD plays, but Ryno is nothing more than a tournament play.
Pau Gasol ($8,200)
Still no Joakim Noah means Gasol is getting a ton of minutes. I know it’s the Bulls third game in four nights, but they’re really thin at the position. Gasol has the size to grab a ton of boards tonight and they will need him in the paint against a long Bucks team. I like him at this salary a lot and is the only guy I’m really using tonight with confidence.
