NBA DFS Playbook – 1/8

Paul George

I’m sure you have noticed, but the volume of NBA DFS players has shot through the roof now that the NFL season is over. I have also noticed that the paylines have also spiked some, but NBA is so up and down that it honestly depends on the night. Tonight features a full 10 game slate so I’m taking the approach of a solid lineup instead of stars and scrubs.

*All prices according to DraftKings

Point Guard

Mario Chalmers ($4,600)

He’s going to be highly owned, but not quite Russell Westbrook territory. Chalmers had a monster game last night, and he gets an even better matchup. It’s going to be hard to fade him, especially at that price.

Goran Dragic ($5,700)

Revenge game against a team that is in shambles right now? Sign me up please. Did  I mention he was only $5,700?

Shooting Guard

Will Barton ($6,700)

Barton has been my plug and play guy this year. The only problem with the last two games is that he’s put up absolute stinkers. Still, the Grizzlies aren’t the same defensive team of old and Barton can easily drop 50 fantasy points on any night. I think he makes for a great GPP play.

Victor Oladipo ($6,600)

Oladipo is my guy of the night tonight. Elfrid Payton is out, so he is going to be running the show for the Magic. Three of his last four games have over 35 fantasy points, and it’s hard to imagine that as a baseline for tonight.

Small Forward

Paul George ($9,100)

George has easily been one of my favorite guys to plug in on any given night. He has fallen off some, but tonight is just too good of a matchup to pass up against the Pelicans. The Pels struggle against big, athletic wingmen and Alonzo Gee isn’t the answer.

Bojan Bogdanovic ($4,900)

Bojan is my GPP play of the night tonight. His scoring and minutes have gone up with the loss of Jarrett Jack and Joe Johnson cannot be trusted. If he scores 12 points with a couple rebounds and assists, then he already hits value.

Power Forward

Draymond Green ($10,000)

He’s the hottest player in DFS right now. What isn’t there to like about his play? Last game wasn’t great but I’m jumping right back on the horse.

 Tristan Thompson ($5,200)

TT has been money in the bank lately. He’s been getting a heavy volume of minutes and his salary hasn’t caught up to him yet. Until then, keep plugging him in while the going is good for Thompson.

Center

Zaza Pachulia ($6,000)

Revenge game for Zaza and he’s coming off of three days rest. If you haven’t caught on by now, I love a good narrative. Plus Milwaukee hasn’t been great against the big men.
