Week 17 NFL Picks Against the Spread
Welcome to Week 17 NFL Picks Against the Spread! This week is solely about motivation. Do these teams have anything to play for? Can they lock up playoff seeding? Do they want to retain their head coach despite a less than ideal record? These are much more important factors this week. Lets pick some games, look at motivation and most importantly find you some winners!
>Season Total 43-25-2
>Upset Alert 7-7
Minnesota Vikings +3 at Green Bay Packers
The Minnesota Vikings are dying to win this game and host a home playoff game even if that means the Seattle Seahawks coming to town. The Packers on the other hand are having issues with pass protection and run blocking. The Vikings have the talent on the defensive side of the ball to make it a very long day for Aaron Rodgers and company. I also expect a heavy dose of Adrian Peterson in this game. He will be productive with his work too. This feels like a game the Packers lose and everyone forgets about them. Then they go on a run and end up in the NFC Championship game and potentially the Super Bowl. Take the Vikings this week and the Packers to win the NFC and Super Bowl when the odds move.
Seattle Seahawks +6.5 at Arizona Cardinals
The Carolina Panthers are going to win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That will set this game up to mean little to the Arizona Cardinals. Expect all of their starters to rest and for Seattle to win this game. They want revenge after Arizona came into their house and laid the smack down. Soak up the points while you can. A Panthers and Seahawks moneyline parlay could be a great thing to look into as well.
Cincinnati Bengals -9.5 vs Baltimore Ravens
Heading into Week 17 the Bengals have motivation. They can grab the two seed with a win and a Bronco loss despite losing a week ago in Denver. They will be upset about letting the game get away and want to end the season on a high note. The Ravens on the other hand come into this game with little to play for. Their season has gone poorly from the start. They did get an impressive outright win a week ago against the Steelers. That should give their fans a little something to be happy about. This game will get sideways quickly and the Bengals will win going away, covering the 9.5 with ease.
New York Jets -2.5 at Buffalo Bills
Its simple for the New York Jets, win and you’re in. They head north to take on a Bills team that has been underwhelming all season. Rex Ryan will be back to coach another season so Bills fans can look to that bright future. The Jets are going to win and are going to be in the playoffs. They have a legit offense with playmakers in Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. They are making Ryan Fitzpatrick look like a decent NFL quarterback. The Jets defense is getting healthier and should be strong in this game especially with another week without LeSean McCoy for the Bills. The Jets will do more than win, they will cover the 2.5 points even on the road.
San Francisco 49ers +3 vs St. Louis Rams
I’m going to end the regular season the same way i started it, in regards to my Upset Alert pick. The 49ers are home where they have been a vastly different team especially defensively. The defense is league worst in terms of yards allowed on the road but are 11th at home. They are facing a Rams team that will not have Todd Gurley who makes the offense go. They also gave it everything they had in their final home game in St. Louis. I’m not sure how much effort we will see. It won’t be pretty but the 49ers will do enough to not only cover but get a win in their final game of the season.
