NBA DFS Playbook – 12/8

Derrick Favors

Todays NBA DFS playbook will be heavy on studs simply because their isn’t much value I like out there. Six game on the hardwood is still offers enough variation though to where building al lineup wont be too much of a daunting task. All of my prices are based on DraftKings.

Point Guard

Jameer Nelson ($3,500)

Nelson has a revenge game against his former team and he’s been logging more minutes as of lately. He only needs 15 fantasy points to hit his value, and I think that is easily his floor tonight.

Shane Larkin ($4,300)

Larkin is my GPP play of the night. He’s been playing really well for the Nets lately and they’ll need his energy tonight against the Rockets. The Brooklyn backcourt simply isn’t getting it done, and has hit double-digit scoring in three of his past four games.

Shooting Guard

James Harden ($10,600)

Brooklyn sucks as a team and can’t stop a nosebleed in the frontcourt. Harden’s price is a big investment, but it’s not out the realm of possibility for him to hit 0ver 70 fantasy points tonight. I would worry about a blowout, but Harden’s floor is around 50 fantasy points. Hard to find that anywhere across the league.

Klay Thompson ($6,400)

Klay has torched the Pacers in the past, hovering around the 40 point fantasy mark in his last two matchups against them. The Pacers are small in the backcourt, and it’s hard to see him not lighting them up tonight from all over the court. His averaging over 30 fantasy points his last four, and it’s hard not to see that as his floor tonight in this matchup.

Small Forward

Paul George ($10,200)

People will be fading George because of the matchup, but that’s exactly why I’m all over him tonight. If it wasn’t for Stephen Curry, George would be the front runner for MVP with his play this season. He’s hit over 5x value in four of his last six games, which is insane for a guy at this price tag. He’s a great pivot from Curry tonight.

Gordon Hayward ($7,000)

Hayward’s salary is finally catching up to his production, but he still has a great matchup tonight. LeBron James is the chalk play tonight, but Hayward can easily his 80% of what James does tonight. I love him in cash games to get in some of the bigger names in your lineup.

Power Forward

Derrick Favors ($7,900)

He’s been getting a ton of minutes with Rudy Gobert is still sidelined with an injury. He’ll be highly owned but he’s a lock for cash games with his price tag still under $8,000. You can’t ask for much more from a guy who’s coming off two 40+ fantasy point games out of his last three.

Thaddeus Young ($7,100)

Saying Young has been frustrating over the past week is an understatement. He’s looked better over his past couple games, so that is good to see. He gets a bump tonight for me because of the lack of value at the position tonight. I’d rather get Favors in my lineup for a little more salary, but he makes for a nice GPP play.

Center

Dwight Howard ($7,000)

I love narratives and Dwight just turned 30 today. He should feast tonight in the post against the Nets. Maybe that propels him to play like Superman that we are used to seeing.

DeMarcus Cousins ($10,500)

A motivated Boogie is a scary Boogie. He’s crapped the bed his last three games, and he’s blames himself for not playing well. The Jazz are thin at the position as well, so tonight shapes up to be a bounce back game for Boogie. It’s crazy to think of him as a GPP play, but his ownership will be lower than normal.
