Fantasy Draft Week 12

Thomas Rawls

It’s hard to be not love Thanksgiving even as a UK NFL fan with three games on Thursday but it does take the shine of setting those Fantasy Draft Week 12 line-ups  a little. On one had we have no more byes now to the end of the season but to counter that we lose four extra teams compared to a normal week. This week the pool loses Cowboys, Panthers, Lions, Eagles, Packers and Bears players but still there is some great depth across three of the four positions.

Blake Bortles, $11,000, SD @ JAX: Bortles struggled last week in the first of his run of good match-ups but now he has had 10 days to prepare to face the woeful Chargers. The Chargers made Alex Smith look really good last week as their depleted defence flapped and failed. Bortles has some really nice young targets and they should also be able to get the run game going so he can feed off the play action and hit his playmakers deep.

Brian Hoyer, $10,000, NO @ HOU: Hoyer is out of the concussion protocol and the welcoming sight of a pathetic Saints defence awaits this weekend. The Saints were obliterated by Kirk Cousins and the Redskins two weeks ago and Hoyer arguably has one of the best weapons in the league at his disposal. Hoyer is someone you can look at if you want to go really budget and you could come out smiling and looking very clever.

T.J. Yeldon, $9,500, SD @ JAX: You only have to look at what Spencer Ware did to the Chiefs last week and the thought of Yeldon running against them makes your mouth begin to water. Yeldon is good running back but he hasn’t had the results for fantasy owners this season. However, I think he finds the end zone and gets 80+ yards against this defence to give a really nice budget running back one play.

Thomas Rawls, $8,800, PIT @ SEA: This is an absolute no brainer for me given the way Rawls ran last week. San Fran have their problems but they have some decent defensive pieces and Rawls tore them to shreds. This week he gets to show off against a playoff container with a defence who have performed above expectation so far this season. Rawls looked fresh and full of burst last week and could go on an end of season run over the next few weeks to create some interesting headlines this offseason. At this price he looks an absolute bargain this week.

Sammy Watkins, $10,200, BUF @ KC: I am going to sink or swim in every fantasy ormat with Watkins this year because I believe in the talent winning out. I thought he would bounce back last week with the Patriots less than stellar secondary but Butler did a great job and the Pats seemed to be try to take him away at all opportunities. This week he gets KC who come off some really good weeks but were poor earlier in the season and I think we see a Watkins touchdown and 75+ yard game this week at a minimum.

Vincent Jackson, $9,200, TB @ IND: Jackson caught a touchdown in his return in the Tampa Bay destruction of the Eagles last weekend. Jameis is really progressing nicely and with Mike Evans on the other side defences have to pick their poison and Evans tend to gets the double coverage more often than Jackson right now. How the Colts use Davis will be big but I think Jackson is good enough that he can still have a decent day at a really cheap price even if he does end up with most of Davis’ attention.

Delanie Walker, $10,100, OAK @ TEN: I know it isn’t a bargain price given he is the third highest tight end but the options are so poor this week he is the last option I would consider. Oakland have had their struggles against tight end and Walker has had a really strong season and I see him having another big week in week 12.
