Week 11 NFL Picks Against the Spread

Aaron Rodgers

Week 11 NFL Picks Against the Spread is all about trust. It requires you trust the NFL’s best quarterback. It also requires you trust the parts around back up quarterbacks this week as well. Defense and a run game are things that travel well. Trust they can do their job even on the road.

A 3-2 Week 10 wasn’t ideal, but still above .500. Let’s improve on that this week as the playoff push starts this week. Lets find some winners for Week 11!

Green Bay Packers +1 at Minnesota Vikings

The Green Bay Packers have been a mess the past three weeks. Aaron Rodgers has all the pressure falling on his shoulders but the Packers have been unable to block or establish the run. This week they are on the road to face the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have been impressive on defense. On offense Adrian Peterson is playing great, though Stefon Diggs and the passing game has slowed down in the process. The Vikings have been the cover kings all season. Covering 8 straight games after their weird monday night blunder. Feels like it’s time for things to balance out. Aaron Rodgers will remind everyone how potent they can be and that they are still very much contenders. Take the Packers outright. Its hard to take a struggling team on the road but its the right side this week.

Indianapolis Colts +6 at Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are home this week coming off of a bye. They welcome a Colts team that hasn’t been the team many expected and will have Matt Hasselbeck under center. Still, the Falcons are catching far too many points for my liking. The Falcons have failed to cover 5 straight games. Their offense has shifted from an all out aerial assault to one that leans on the run game. Devonta Freeman has been incredible and has earned the work he gets. Vontae Davis will cover Julio Jones this week which should give the Falcons even more reason to lean on the run. Frank Gore and Colts rush attack should be good in this game. I like a slow paced game that is around a field goal when the final whistle blows. The Falcons should get the win here but the Colts plus the points is the play in this game.

Carolina Panthers -7 vs Washington Redskins

A week ago the Washington Redskins looked like world beaters. They dominated a New Orleans Saints defense that has been awful all season. Kirk Cousins played great and they got a ton out of the rushing attack. This week however they are heading to Carolina to take on a Panthers defense that is a top 10 defense. They have a stellar front seven led by Thomas Davis and Luke Kuechly. They also have Josh Norman who may be the best corner in the NFL. The Panthers offense is led by Cam Newton who is making a serious case for MVP. The Panthers have only failed to cover two games all season. I expect the Panthers to cover the touchdown and then some in this spot.

New England Patriots -7.5 vs Buffalo Bills

The Patriots have now lost two important cogs to their offense in Julian Edelman and Dion Lewis. Still, the Patriots are the right side. Anytime I get the Patriots in a home game on national tv, I’m always in. They still have Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. Danny Amendola and Brandon LaFell have stepped up and should be able to help this offense continue to roll again this week. It’s hard to go against Rex Ryan who always seems to bring his A game against the Patriots. Tyrod Taylor and company will try and keep this game close. I expect the Patriots to find a way to win this game by 8 or more points. If you can get this number at 7 i like it even more.

St. Louis Rams +2.5 at Baltimore Ravens

Week 10 featured a week of games that really have thrown off perception. Perhaps the biggest was the Chicago Bears going into St. Louis and dominating. The Rams may have issues with their passing attack, highlighted by the switch they’ll make at quarterback this week. They do play great defense and run the ball very well. A week ago the Rams would likely be favorites in this spot or at least a pick’em game. Now catching points, this game is one of my favorite of the week. The Ravens are a mess defensively and on offense they have Justin Forsett and a bunch of complimentary pieces. Take the points if you want to play it safe but the Rams win this one outright.
