Own The Play Week 7: Top Shelf and Bargain Bin Plays

Carson Palmer and Larry FItzgerald

Own The Play Week 7 features Top Shelf and Bargain Bin plays to help you win this weekend. This week features a ton of talented running backs facing shaky defenses. It also features tight ends not named Rob Gronkowski that should be in your lineup. There is also a ton of value to be had to fit studs into your lineup.

Top Shelf Plays

Andrew Luck Indianapolis Colts $8,300
vs New Orleans Saints

Andrew Luck came back last week and looked good, especially for the first half. Though when the Pats knew he had to throw, they were able to get pressure on him. This week he faces a Saints defense that is in the bottom third in terms of passing yards allowed per game. They have only two interceptions all season, which should help Luck avoid the costly turnover. Luck should be able to utilize his arm and legs in this game and put up the fantasy points.

Carson Palmer Arizona Cardinals $7,500
vs Baltimore Ravens

Carson Palmer has been remarkably consistent this season. He has a ton of weapons in Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown and Michael Floyd. This week the Baltimore Ravens come to town and Palmer is poised for a big week. The Ravens are allowing the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. They have a hard time getting pressure on the quarterback. I expect Palmer to eclipse the 300 yard mark and throw for at least three touchdowns.

Adrian Peterson Minnesota Vikings $8,100
at Detroit Lions

Adrian Peterson was frustrating to own last Sunday but the three games prior he averaged 21 plus points per game. This week he faces a Lions team that is averaging over 120 yards allowed on the ground, 7th worst in the NFL. They’ve also allowed 10 rushing scores, tied with the Falcons for most allowed this season. I expect an impressive performance this week from Peterson.

Todd Gurley St. Louis Rams $6,300
vs Cleveland Browns

Todd Gurely has looked great in the two games where he got a full workload. He is showing everyone why he was such a high draft pick. He is facing a Browns defense that allows the most rushing yards per game and is allowing 4th most fantasy points to the opposing running back. The Rams will control the clock and lean on the run game in this one. Expect a monter performance from Gurley.

Arian Foster Houston Texans $7,100
at Miami Dolphins

Arian Foster has started to look like Arian Foster the past two weeks. He has scored over 20 points in both games. This week he faces a Dolphins defense that has a ton of issues stopping the run this season. They are allowing 141 yards per game which is second worst in the NFL. Foster should prove effective on the ground and via the pass in this game. Foster is going to be in many of my lineups.

Odell Beckham Jr. New York Giants $8,000
vs Dallas Cowboys

Odell Beckham is a huge part of the Giants offense. Eli Manning looks for him early and often. This week so be no different. Beckham is going to require you to pay up but he is likely going to be worth the price of admission.

Larry Fitzgerald Arizona Cardinals $6,700
vs Baltimore Ravens

Larry Fitzgerald has had a renaissance this season for the Cardinals. Carson Palmer should torch the Baltimore secondary and Fitzgerald should be on the other end of many throws. A big day for Fitzgerald should be coming this week.

Brandon Marshall New York Jets $6,500
at New England Patriots

The best way to attack the Patriots is via the pass. Brandon Marshall has been really good this season and Ryan Fitzpatrick continues to find him. He should be a big part of what the Jets do Sunday. If the Pats get up then the pass will be even more necessary. I think Marshall is big in this game.

Travis Kelce Kansas City Chiefs $4,800
vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Travis Kelce faces a Steelers defense that allows the third most fantasy points to tight ends. Kelce is going to be more involved in this offense with Jamaal Charles on the shelf for the rest of the season. He has ability to make plays in space and should have an opportunity to find the endzone.

Delanie Walker Tennessee Titans $4,500
vs Atlanta Falcons

Delanie Walker reestablished himself in this offense in a big way a week ago. This week he faces a Falcons secondary that has been torched by opposing tight ends. They are allowing 11.2 fantasy points a game. They were torched a week ago by Ben Watson. Zach Mettenberger will be starting for the Titans this week and should utilize Walker early and often.

St. Louis Rams $3,600
vs Cleveland Browns
This is my favorite defense this week. They are a faster, more impressive defense at home. The face a Browns offense that has been better but I expect a return to reality this week. Josh McCown will turn the ball over and the Browns offense should struggle. I expect the price tag to be worth every penny this week.

Bargain Bin Finds

Frank Gore

Ryan Tannehill Miami Dolphins $6,300
vs Houston Texans

The Dolphins offense as a whole look much better with Joe Philbin out of the picture. Ryan Tannehill has talented weapons to continue to get involved including Jarvis Landry, Jordan Cameron, and Rishard Matthews. The Texans are susceptible via the pass and Tannehill should take advantage in this spot.

Ryan Fitzpatrick New York Jets $6,200
at New England Patriots

I like Ryan Fitzpatrick quite a bit this week. Something I did not think I would be writing. He will have to throw if the Jets want to win this game. Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker are legit weapons for Fitzpatrick and they should get involved early and often. If the Pats get up, it will force more passing from the Jets. Expect a really nice game here especially when you consider the price tag.

Latavius Murray Oakland Raiders $5,800
at San Diego Chargers

Latavius Murray hasn’t been great the past two weeks but he has the opportunity to have a nice rebound performance against the San Diego Chargers. They are a league worst 24.3 fantasy points against the run. Murray is a easy play for sub $6,000 price tag.

Frank Gore Indianapolis Colts $5,300
vs New Orleans Saints

This game feels like a great opportunity for Frank Gore who has been solid after a slow start to the season against two of the best run defenses. The New Orleans Saints give up 138.2 rushing yards per game which is third worst in NFL.

Donte Moncrief Indianapolis Colts $5,300
vs New Orleans Saints

The return of Andrew Luck a week ago was a nice one for Colts pass catchers, especially Moncrief. He was peppered with 11 targets. This week he faces a Saints defense that is in the bottom third in terms of passing yards allowed

Stefon Diggs Minnesota Vikings $3,500
at Detroit Lions

Stefon Diggs has 13 catches and 216 yards the two games he has played this season. He is clearly a part of the offense. This week he faces a Lions secondary that is getting worked this season. They are in the bottom third in terms of yards allowed.

Jacob Tamme Atlanta Falcons $3,100
at Tennessee Titans

Jacob Tamme was in this spot a week ago and was a total clunker but i’m going back to the well with him. He faces a Titans defense that has been good against the pass but has struggled against opposing tight ends. They are allowing the 6th most points to opposing tight ends. I expect the Falcons to lean on the run and mix in play action pass in this game. Tamme gets that work and does well here for close to minimum price.

Minnesota Vikings $3,100
at Detroit Lions

The Minnesota Vikings defense has been solid this season especially if you take away the game against the 49ers on the road in a late Monday Night Football game. This week they face Matthew Stafford and the Lions. Stafford has been turnover prone both on the road and at home. Ameer Abdullah has had fumble problems this season and should be on the field with his talent. The Vikings should be able to limit the scoring a force a turnover or two making them a really nice defense with a solid cost savings.
