Top Shelf Plays

Tom Brady New England Patriots $8,300 (17% owned)
at New England Patriots

Holy revenge factor Batman! The Patriots are going to do everything in their power to score a 100 in this game. The Colts defense has issues defending the pass. Brady should have a monster performance in this game. 400 plus yards and 4 or more touchdowns is very much in the cards for this game.

Aaron Rodgers Green Bay Packers $8,100 (7% owned)
vs San Diego Chargers

Aaron Rodgers at home against a team that has issues getting pressure on the quarterback, sign me up! While I prefer Tom Brady this week in a night game against the Colts, Rodgers has a ton of potential as well. He could actually be a good option for GPP’s as many will be either looking for savings at the position or paying for Brady.

Devonta Freeman Atlanta Falcons $6,300 (56% Owned)
at New Orleans Saints

Devonta Freeman has produced eye popping numbers over the last three weeks. He has produced via the ground and air. This week he faces a Saints team that has issues on the defensive side of the ball, especially against the run. Thursday night games always give me some hesitation, but Freeman is too hard to pass on.

Matt Forte Chicago Bears $7,700 (12% Owned)
at Detroit Lions

Matt Forte is the Chicago Bears offense. If you take away the game at Seattle with Jimmy Clausen under center, Forte has averaged 20.8 points per game. This week he faces a Lions defense that is in the bottom third of the league in terms of rushing yards allowed per game. They have also allowed the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL. The Bears should be in this game the entire way and Forte should have a monster performance. Get him in your lineup.

Eddie Lacy Green Bay Packers $6,700 (7% Owned)
vs San Diego Chargers

Eddie Lacy hasn’t lived up to expectations thus far this season. He has battled the injury bug a bit which doesn’t help this week, however he faces a San Diego Chargers defense that allows the fourth most rushing yards per game. The Packers should get up big in this game and Lacy should run wild.

Randall Cobb Green Bay Packers $7,300 (6% Owned)
vs San Diego Chargers

Aaron Rodgers is poised to have monster game against the Chargers and I expect Cobb to be on the other end of many of those passes. It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Cobb and his owners but he should bounce back in a major way this week. He is facing a Chargers secondary that can be beat. Get ready for Cobb to roast San Diego this weekend.

Julian Edelman New England Patriots $6,800 (34% Owned)
at Indianapolis Colts

Julian Edelman should be a monster in this game. With Tom Brady poised to throw the ball over the yard, Edelman should be on the other end of many of his passes. He will be widely owned but don’t let that sway you away from using him. He has the chance to rack up the yards in this game and find the endzone possibly multiple times.

Larry Fitzgerald Arizona Cardinals $7,100 (10% Owned)
at Pittsburgh Steelers

Larry Fitzgerald has been awesome this season averaging 23.6 points per game. The Cardinals offense has shown the ability to produce both at home and on the road. This week that face a Steelers defense that has issues against the pass. They are 20th in terms of passing yards allowed and have allowed 8 passing touchdowns which is 6th worst in the league.

Rob Gronkowski New England Patriots $7,600 (17% Owned)
at Indianapolis Colts

Pay up for Rob Gronkowski. Just do it. I know he is expensive and he will be widely owned. He has the potential to have a monster game here. A Brady/Gronk stack will appear in many lineups.

Denver Broncos $3,500 (24% Owned)
at Cleveland Browns

Josh McCown has had a really impressive run the past three weeks. That run ends this week thanks to a Bronco defense that may be the best in the NFL. The turnover prone, bad decision maker is still in there for McCown and my guess he makes his triumphant return this week. Broncos will be highly owned but for a good reason.

Peyton Manning Denver Broncos $6,500 (3% Owned)
at Cleveland Browns

I know Peyton Manning and the Broncos passing game has not looked great this season but this week they face a Browns defense that has given up the 4th most passing touchdowns. Thus far the best they have faced Philip Rivers, Joe Flacco, and Derek Carr. Manning has the opportunity to remind everyone how good he can be. If he was priced closer to his typical cost I’m not sure I would be as excited to insert him into my lineup, but when he is priced below Mathew Stafford and Jay Cutler, I am buying.

Marcus Mariota Tennessee Titans $6,300 (1% owned)
vs Miami Dolphins

Marcus Mariota had a disappointing performance a week ago against the Bills. This week he is home again to face a Dolphins team that has replaced their coach. The Dolphins are in the middle of the pack in terms of passing yards allowed per game. Kendall Wright also expressed frustration over not getting the ball. Expect the Titans to find ways to get him involved more this week. I expect a nice bounce back performance from Mariota.

LeGarrette Blount New England Patriots $5,000 (4% Owned)
at Indianapolis Colts

This is one of my favorite plays this week. Dion Lewis is the lead back in New England but Blount is still getting work, especially against teams that are weak between the tackles. In the AFC Championship game last year it was Blount who ran for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns. While I’m not expecting that by any means, Blount will be a factor in this game especially if the Patriots get up big, which they should. At $5,000, he should be easy to make work in almost any lineup.

Theo Riddick Detroit Lions $3,900 (3% Owned)
vs Chicago Bears

Theo Riddick has provided production for the Detroit Lions out of the backfield. Something they have lacked severely. Most of his production comes through the air. He is averaging double digit fantasy points this season and is coming into this game off of a 21.3 point performance. At sub $4,000, Riddick is incredibly tempting. If you need roster flexibility, get Riddick in your lineup.

Jacob Tamme Atlanta Falcons $3,100 (5% Owned)
at New Orleans Saints

Jacob Tamme showed a week ago how productive he can be going for 8 catches and 94 yards. This week he faces a Saints defense that doesn’t scare you. There are reports that Julio Jones may be on a pitch count of sorts and Leonard Hankerson got a little banged up in the last game. Matt Ryan could use Tamme early and often again this week. At $3,100 it could be a great way to save money for quarterback and wide receiver.

Tennessee Titans Defense $2,800 (6% Owned)
vs Miami Dolphins

The Titans are only allowing 167 yards per game via the pass and are facing Ryan Tannehill who has 5 interceptions on the season This game will also be in Nashville which helps the Titans as well. They have a ton of upside and a their downside is limited.
