Brewers Starters headline Week 17 Streamers for Fantasy Baseball

Jimmy Nelson

The Milwaukee Brewers have great potential for their starters to produce this week. Taylor Jungmann and Jimmy Nelson could both produce a ton of strikeouts and have a shot at getting the win. Jesse Chavez gets to pitch at home in a match up that provides a ton of upside.

Nathan Karns – Tampa Bay Rays
(Monday at Chicago White Sox)

Outside of one bad start against the Kansas City Royals, Nathan Karns has been really solid this season. His 30% ownership in ESPN standard leagues is pretty surprising. He is a guy that can produce multiple strikeouts, including the 10 he put up on the Yankees. While the Tigers can score runs at times, they have struggled prior to this weekend. No Yoenis Cespedes who was traded to the Mets or Miguel Cabrera makes this even more appealing. In Karns last start, which was against the Tigers, he allowed only three hits and one earned run. He will also be a nice DFS option that should come at a decent price.

Jesse Chavez – Oakland Athletics
(Monday vs Baltimore Orioles)

Jesse Chavez is a guy that you want to avoid on the road and use at home in most match ups. He has a 2.33 ERA at home this season, in 10 starts. He has tallied 47 strikeouts in those outings. While the Orioles can be a scary match-up on paper, they also provide an opportunity for the opposing pitcher to rack up the strikeouts. Baltimore is currently 8th in the MLB for team strikeouts. If you have a starts limit and want to avoid a possible bad outing I wouldn’t blame you but the upside is worth the risk in my opinion.

Jimmy Nelson – Milwaukee Brewers
(Tuesday vs San Diego Padres)

Jimmy Nelson is a fantastic option with strikeout upside. He has racked up 5 or more strikeouts in his last five outings. The San Diego Padres have struck out the 3rd most of any team in majors. This matchup is loaded with all kinds of fantasy goodness. Stream Nelson anywhere you can. He will rack up the counting stats and have a great shot at getting the win even for a bad Brewers team.

Taylor Jungmann – Milwaukee Brewers
(Wednesday vs San Diego Padres)

Sorry if you have heard this before but a pitcher with strikeout potential is facing a San Diego Padres team that loves to strike out. Taylor Jungmann is a guy that has been racking up the strikeouts of late, including seven strikeouts in three of his last four starts. The other start he still put together five. Like his teammate Nelson, he should have a good shot at getting the win on top of the counting stat potential. Both Brewers pitchers should be strong DFS options and shouldn’t cost a ton.

Daniel Norris – Detroit Tigers
(Friday vs Boston Red Sox)

Daniel Norris was the main piece acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for David Price. He made his first start for them on Sunday at the Baltimore Orioles, which was also his first start in the big leagues since late April. In that start he impressed, going seven innings allowing four hits and one earned. He racked up five strikeouts in the process. Norris get a good match up against a Red Sox who tend to struggle against left handers. Norris has a chance to put up a solid strikeout total, avoid the big inning and be really useful. He is also a young prospect that has loads of potential. He could get better as the season goes along. If you have a keeper or dynasty league and he is still available, make sure you put in a claim now. He will be a strong piece for a long time.
