Fantasy Baseball: Streaming Options for Week 14

Chris Heston

The Streaming Options for Week 14 provide a chance at strong production for this week and the potential to be roster mainstays. Manny Banuelos and Patrick Corbin look to keep a lock on their rotation spots after strong first outings, and Chris Heston looks to handle the Mets in another strong outing. All these guys can provide great value in DFS as well and should come on the cheap.

Chris Heston – San Francisco Giants
(Monday vs New York Mets)

Chris Heston has been consistently allowing 3 earned runs or less over the last month. His value comes when he can finish hitters off with a strikeout. When they come, they come in bunches. Four of his last six outings have produced 6 or more punch outs. This week he gets a home start against the New York Mets. In his last outing against the Mets, Heston didn’t allow a hit over 9 innings and racked up 11 strikeouts. The potential is there for another impressive outing in this match up. The Mets bats have gone into a deep freeze as of late and I dont expect them to heat up anytime soon.

Manny Banuelos – Atlanta Braves
(Tuesday at Milwaukee Brewers)

Manny Banuelos made his season debut last week against the Washington Nationals. He only allowed two hits over 5 ⅔, while striking out seven. He was forced to leave due to cramping, but should be fine for this start. The Milwaukee Brewers are not good against lefties and are in the top 10 in strikeouts. Banuelos has the chance to pitch well again this week and rack up the strikeouts while doing so. Get him in your lineup where you can. He is also a strong option for DFS that should come on the cheap.

Charlie Morton – Pittsburgh Pirates
(Wednesday vs San Diego Padres)

Charlie Morton hasn’t pitched his best as of late, but when looking for streaming options you need to take some risk. Morton has the potential be a really solid option this week. At his best he can be a guy that stack up the strikeouts, allows very few runs and gets a win. In this matchup he can do all of the above. The strikeouts should come in bunches in this outing. The Padres trail only the Cubs and Astros for team strikeouts. Morton is another great DFS option that will come cheap.

Kyle Hendricks – Chicago Cubs
(Friday vs Chicago White Sox)

Kyle Hendricks seems to have found a groove as of late. In his last two outings 6 plus innings getting 6 strikeouts in each outing. In this outing against the Chicago White Sox Hendricks has the chance to keep it rolling. The White Sox don’t strikeout as much as the Marlins or Mets, Hendricks last two opponents. The potential is still there from 6 plus strikeouts, but I wouldn’t expect it. He should allow few hits and 2 earned run or less in this outing. He should also have a great shot at getting the win.

Patrick Corbin – Arizona Diamondbacks
(Saturday at New York Mets)

Patrick Corbin wasn’t mind blowing in his first start of the season, but if you consider it was his first start in two years coming off of Tommy John, it was a success. He went 5 innings and only allowed 2 earned runs. He also got the win. Id expect Corbin to go longer in his second start of the season. I also expect him to improve on the 3 strikeouts he had in his first outing of the season. If Corbin can regain his old form, he could be a guy to rely on moving forward.

While the aces don’t have any match ups that would scare me, many of them face each other this week. Dallas Keuchel vs Carlos Carrasco, Max Scherzer vs Johnny Cueto, and Madison Bumgarner vs Cole Hamels are just a few of the match ups. You may need to stream in some pitchers who have a good shot at getting you wins to help with that category..
