Positive

  • Great vision
  • A poor man’s MJD
  • Nice in between the tackles
  • Gets what’s blocked
  • Nice short yardage/goal line back
  • Very nice hands out of the backfield
  • Succeeds on the check down passes
  • Grinder who will wear down the defense
  • Has some shake-n-bake but not dynamic by any means
  • Great balance and low center of gravity
  • Decent power
  • Marginal burst
  • Competent runner

Concerns

  • Lacks top end speed
  • Struggles to create plays if the area is walled off
  • Marginal in pass protection
  • Will have to improve pass blocking technique to be effective at the next level

Dennis Digs Deeper

Josh Robinson is known as “the bowling ball.” This nickname stems from his incredible leg drive that allows him to plow through defenders.

Kyle’s Instant Evaluation

Josh Robinson is a running back that really gained steam as an NFL prospect in his junior season at Mississippi State. That was the year Robinson finally got the the full work load and boy did he produce. He ran for 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns. Not having the wear and tear during his first two seasons with the Bulldogs could prove valuable as he heads to the NFL.
