Angle of Pursuit: Javorius Allen

Javorius Allen

Javorius Allen – University of Southern California

Height: 6’0″    Weight: 221

Comp: Joseph Randle

Dennis’ Scouting Notes

Positive

  • Hits the hole with zip
  • Shows patience
  • Will let the play develop
  • Can generate yards after contact (but I wouldn’t consider him a power runner)
  • A one-cut runner who would be a nice fit in an outside zone scheme
  • Very nice hands out of the backfield
  • Very aggressive in pass pro, which will give him a boost in the minds of NFL teams who want to protect their franchise QB
  • Great short-area quickness

Concerns

  • Needs to drive feet upon contact
  • Doesn’t possess elite balance
  • Needs to lower pad level especially on inside runs
  • Not a home-run hitter
  • Does not out run defenders angles of pursuit

Kyle’s Instant Evaluation

Javorius Allen feels like a running back that will be better in the NFL than what he showed in college. He will go two rounds later than he should have and find a way to become relevant. He has the size to produce at the next level and the speed to make plays. The future is bright for this prospect.
