Fantasy Baseball: Streaming Pitchers Week 2

Drew Pomeranz

Streaming pitchers with favorable match-ups can be a challenging thing for owners but it can provide a tremendous edge. Each week I will give out five options that are widely available and provide a strong option for owners. This week is loaded with young pitchers loaded with talent, including two guys from the Oakland Athletics and Archie Bradley making a start across the bay. Many of these guys could all be options that are reliable members of many fantasy teams as the season goes along.

Shane Greene – Detroit Tigers

(Tuesday at Pittsburgh Steelers)

In his first start of the season Shane Greene was impressive. He went 8 innings, allowing only 4 hits. He had 5 strikeouts and only one walk. While the Pirates have a stronger lineup than what the Minnesota Twins had, Greene should have another impressive performance and a strong season ahead of him.

Daniel Norris – Toronto Blue Jays

(Tuesday vs Tampa Bay Rays)

Daniel Norris was fine in his first outing of the season. He did allow 3 runs in his first start, but he also had 5 strikeouts. Tampa Bay has struggled thus far this season and Norris should be able to improve on his numbers from a week ago. He should have another solid K total and allow 2 runs or less.

Kendall Graveman – Oakland Athletics

(Tuesday at Houston Astros)

Kendall Graveman had any awful first performance in his opening outing, but this game provides an excellent bounce back opportunity. Graveman is young pitcher with loads of talent. The Astros lineup is amongst the worst in the majors. Graveman should have a good strikeout potential. He will need to avoid leaving it up and allowing the long ball.

Drew Pomeranz – Oakland Athletics

(Wednesday at Houston Astros)

Drew Pomeranz is a pitcher who’s always had the potential but inexperienced and injuries have slowed the start of his career. Pomeranz allowed only two hits in his first start and was simply sensational. He had six strikeouts in that outing. He also takes on the Astros lineup that has struggled thus far. Pomeranz should be really good on Wednesday.

Archie Bradley – Arizona Diamondbacks

(Thursday at San Francisco Giants)

Archie Bradley is another young pitcher loaded with a ton of promise. He was sensational in his first start against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He allowed 1 hit over 6 innings with six strikeouts. Bradley should benefit from AT&T Park and a Giants lineup that is not producing a ton of runs. He will be a solid option for streaming.
