Daily NBA Playbook – 04/08

Andre Drummond

Hope everyone is having a nice Wednesday. I certainly am with Alabama hiring Avery Johnson as their next Head Coach, maybe Alabama will start doing more basketball things. Other than that, how about we take some time and look at some players you should consider to plug into your line up tonight.

Guards:

Deron Williams – $6,900

Well, look who is on fire right now. Looks like Williams is finally playing up to that huge contract and the timing couldn’t be better for the Nets, who are in a brawl for the last couple of playoff spots in the East. In his last four games, he has hit at least 24 points in three of the contests. Williams also has two double-doubles during this span, continues shooting at a high clip and brings it every night now with the playoffs on the line. The Nets will take on the Hawks tonight, who may be resting their starters.

Zach LaVine – $5,700

With Ricky Rubio still out, LaVine’s minutes have shot up and he’s trying to make the most out of them. Last night LaVine posted 21 points and 11 assists to go with a few rebounds and a steal. His shooting percentage also increased, connecting on half of his shots. In three out of the four past games LaVine has hit 40+ minutes and 20+ points. Looks like tonight will be another opportunity for high minutes and a very nice stat sheet.

Forwards:

Kawhi Leonard – $8,100

I’m paying a good bit for Leonard tonight, mainly because his investments have been paying off as of late. In his past three games he has scored at least 20 points, shooting at least 64%, has hit at least one 3-pt shot, and has 10 steals over the past two of those games. He’s a hot hand that you should continue to ride against the Rockets, which should be a nice and close match up.

DeMarre Carroll – $5,900

Well as of now Carroll is expected to be in the line up but the Hawks could rest some of their starters tonight. If Carroll is in the line up, then he will be in mine. Carroll brings value in nearly every category and if the ball doesn’t have to be shared with the usual line up, then Carroll should see a bump in offensive opportunities. Considering he’s already a safe play for a stat sheet that will be filled in numerous categories, may as well take a shot and see if his offensive output will be higher tonight.

Center:

Andre Drummond – $9,400

Last two games against Boston:

18 points, 22 rebounds, 4 blocks, 47% shooting (this is good for him).

27 points, 14 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 steals, 67% shooting.

Drummond does well against Boston.
